well that's already a federal felony. see when you buy a new gun you fill out a form and you swear under penalty of perjury that you are the actual buyer of that firearm. if you actually are buying a gun for someone else, you have committed federal perjury. EVEN IF YOU don't know that the buyer is a felon. In fact a court recently held that you can be convicted of a straw purchase EVEN IF you know the person you are buying the gun for is perfectly able to own the firearm legally. The court noted that the purpose of the law was to prevent people from buying guns for felons or other prohibited persons but since there was no exception in the law, the buyer was convicted of a felony even though his actions resulted in no conceivable harm
I was thinking Gun neutered (people who cannot legally own guns or are too afraid to do so) or gun Neganistas -a chic way of saying Gun haters or Generally nutcases.
Straw purchases were more common in states with less regulation than California. How do you explain that?
that proves nothing. Chicago banned handguns and had lots more gun deaths than many areas where honest people can freely own handguns. punishing felons who misuse guns is what matters, straw purchasers are not the primary wrong doer. its a malum prohibitum offense, not malum per se
I have a question for you and other BM members who claim that we are paranoid for opposing feel good placebos that the BM spits out in order to both appease the slow witted voters who want SOMETHING down and to incrementally harass gun owners what will you put up as a guarantee that your schemes will not lead to gun bans or confiscation? its easy for you to sit back and claim stuff you want to push won't lead to complete gun bans. You have nothing at risk. If gun bans do happen, I am sure you will find some excuse. If they don't happen tomorrow or next month or even during the Trump administration, you will scream we are paranoid even though your posting history, along with a few other BM members, demonstrate an extremely virulent hatred of gun owners that suggests you won't stop with mere registration or background checks Now if say your property or liberty would be forfeited if what you seek advances farther down the road to confiscation, I might start believing you
Really? Ever hear of Peter Helmke? Of course not. He was killed by a multiply convicted ex-felon whose sister bought him the gun, even though she knew what he was. No charges in plea bargain for the sister's testimony. Eat that lib. You libs are incapable of enforcing EXISTING law yet you want new one. Typical.
Not our problem but it sure is yours. BTW your room mate is at it again. So much for a truce. You even have problems with that. Typical.
