The story sends the wrong message. How young is ok for you to be talking about gay marriage or a gay couple to your kids? Is 5 years old ok for you? This book should not be allowed in school. Politics has no business being in our schools but to many liberal teaches don't care.

 

Most of the girls in my younger brothers class was pregnant before they graduated. I knew a girl who was pregnant at the age of 14 and had 4 kids before she was even 18. Her cousin was having sex with an 11 year old girl and got her pregnant.

It is stupid for anyone to support people having lot's of sex. This is why we have so many single moms today trying to get child support or trying to raise kids by themselves. It's stupid. Only a IDIOT would be ok with their children having lot's of sex, looking at porn etc.

The guy that had sex with the 11 year old girl was 23 years old and he had a trial date set up. It was in the news years ago here in Iowa. I'm sure he went to prison. The 11 year old's mom knew what was going on and did not care. Parents these days just don't raise their children right.

 

No, we don't know that sexuality is a "personal choice". It could be genetically encoded just like blond hair verses brunette, it may also be a genetic defect. We don't know. To sit there and see you claim that it is a personal choice is an admittance of sheer ignorance on your part.

My point was we are not allowed to discuss God in school but liberals can talk about anything and not get in trouble. It's stupid. God is not really discussed in schools out of respect for parents that may get upset about it so a book about a gay couple she be considered the same way and should not be allowed to be discussed in a school classroom full of little kids. So how young is it ok for you to read a book about sex or marriage or gay marriage? In this case they were 10 year olds. What if they were younger?

I knew a 23 year old man having sex with an 11 year old girl and she got pregnant. Are you ok with this? What is acceptable in your world for little kids to learn about this stuff or start having sex?

You may think it was just a book but it could influence these kids and it does not need to be in our schools in a classroom of 10 year olds.

 

We have laws against proselytizing in public schools which is what you really want. If children want to talk about any god, they can. If they want to pray, they can. What cannot occur is a teacher or employee telling kids to join hands so we can pray to whatever god you choose. Now you're breaking the law.

There is also no law against studying religion in school from a historical perspective. So spare us the woe is me persecution complex just because you can't force your religion on school children. Yes, you can pray. No, you cannot force others to nor can you lead a prayer as an agent of the govt . Yes, you can have a bible. No, you can't proselytize it to school children.

 

There is also a law against that. There is no law against being gay, being married while gay or being taught various types of relationships.

I actually do think nature has a lot to do with it, I could pick out who was gay before they even knew it. For some people it is a choice. I am naturally hetero.

Despite my misremark, you don't teach 3rd graders about homosexuality, This is common sense stuff.

 

Why shouldn't they be taught there are different types of families, this is a school right? By the way its amazing how much 10 year olds know about sex and you want them to shelter them from even knowing the kinds of families out there? This isn't a true philosophical debate because you guys can't give a good logical reason why being gay is bad and a worse choice for gays than being straight or celibate.

Here are some possible attacks that I can easily refute:
1: Bible says its bad.
2: Its unnatural, a perversion.
3: Well then polygamy is good too.
4: No children are made.
5: All the sex diseases.
6: They choose to be gay.

I went to public schools from 1944 to 1956 and not one time did teachers discuss a man with a man as being married. I am so blessed to have attended public school prior to the time that Democrats figured they could turn a man's use of another man into a political issue. Gay pride?
