The top 50% of income earners pay 97% of the Federal income taxes.

How much more money do you want to steal from them?

Because so called "commie fornia" is owned by corporate shills called Democrats. Lay off the right wing radio because as a leftist, I am telling you for a fact, is not left wing. Some things, certainly not economics or healthcare.

I think it just creates an even more complicated system than we have now.

In my mind, you either retain ObamaCare, or you replace it with a more robust free market system than we had in 2009; one with no mandates, insurance sold across state lines, portability when one loses their job, and various other deregulatory measures that put the consumer in charge of his or her own plan, as opposed to having government and the healthcare industry in charge.

That may be a two or three step process, but it is a process worth going through if we truly want a system that works for the people, instead of a bill getting passed just for the sake of getting it passed.

It won't be cheaper and we won't have better access.

The reason why Medicare for all is cheaper, is because it is literally less expensive to pay for a rise in taxes, rather than to keep paying private medical insurance premiums, this is a fact. Universal access is better access by default.

It's so easy to say meaningless carp like this in response to valuable information posted by someone else. Of course, if everyone did it the site would not be worth visiting.

Private premiums are high in a large part because of outrageous malpractice awards. That is being dealt with now, via limits on non-medical damages, such as "pain and suffering" ; already passed the House.

That is certainly part of it, but nowhere near the reason for the premiums increase. Just like Obamacare has its talking points, free market health advocates use the talking point you just used re malpractice. Premiums are higher because we run our healthcare as a for profit enterprise, rather than a service. This is the core of the problem.

    No it is not.

Canadians pay very high taxes, wait in longer lines, and many are opting to go south across the border into the U.S. and pay cash for better and more expedient health care instead of waiting months/years to get a simple procedure done.

Yes, it certainly is a fact. Are you seriously trying to tell everyone private health insurance is CHEAPER than Medicare? Only the wealthy from other nations come here. I went to school in Europe and nobody was coming to the US because it's dangerous to go without being insured/covered, etc in our market system.
