    HYPERLINK has full story

    snip
A boy whose letter to President Trump made national headlines last month reportedly wanted a pro-Trump cake for his birthday party, but his mother was unable to find a baker willing to fulfill the order...................

Michael P. Farris is president, CEO and general counsel of the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Christian legal group defending Jack Phillips, a Colorado baker who was sued by a gay couple for declining to make their same-sex wedding cake.

Mr. Farris wondered why bakers are allowed to decline to make birthday cakes supporting Mr. Trump, but not wedding cakes supporting same-sex marriage.

    end snip

I find this to be quite interesting. I wonder how many bakeries will be forced to close, pay reparations to the little boy and attend re-education sessions?

We know the answer is not a darn thing will come from this. I trust that the liberals will be just as outraged over this refusal of service as when a Christian will not service a celebration of gay-sex.

Because "Trump supporters" aren't a protected class.

What about young boys, are they a protected class? Being a mother, I'm surprised you're able to shrug something like this off simply because you hate Trump. Amazing.

Can't have your cake and eat it too is my thought. I'd let the right wing nutters protest the crap out of them, all day every day. See how it feels with shoe on the other foot.

I'm sure it was a religious decision. The Church of Hillary imposes stiff penalties for stepping out of line.

Hope the kid at least got a Trump card for his bday. I send one to all my liberal friends on their birthdays. ;)

Did they refuse because he was a boy or his age?

Yes, the hypocrisy is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Protected classes are what the groups say they are, pretty sad..... but

    No, I still don't care.

Aside from political ideology not being a protected class, as already mentioned, the bakery presumably would not make such a cake for anyone. That means there isn't any discrimination going on. I know nuance isn't a strong suit for some folks, though, so no doubt the whining and cries of hypocrisy will continue.

Maybe, one thing we know for sure is that he didn't get the cake he asked for because the bakers refused to bake it since they had different ideologies than the boy.

He didn't even mention which bakers on the "left" did this (how does one make a "Donald Trump" cake anyway?), And given that he (the person who was cited in the OP) is a General Counsel, he would already know that Trump supporters are not a protected class. It's a ludicrous argument.

I don't like that the bakers whose religion opposes same sex marriage were shamed and scorned for their decision, but the man in the OP is being a troll. There's no comparison to this situation. Plus you can refuse to bake cakes all day long if you don't offer them as part of your normal offering. The baker in trouble for the gay marriage offered wedding cakes. It appears from this story that they couldn't even find a baker that offers a "Donald Trump" cake to the general market.

You're not making any sense. They'll make a cake for anyone that doesn't want a Trump cake. That's discrimination.

'Nuance' in this case to be read as: 'excepted on flimsy grounds for convenience'

It's the pro-Trump decoration they refused to make, if I'm reading the story correctly. They won't make a pro-Trump cake for anyone. You discriminate against people, not content. Ergo, no discrimination.

Don't be obtuse. There are many ways to make a Donald Trump cake.

I say boycott the bakery. I find that as one person I can only make a very small difference but I try and stand with my principles. This year has been tough because I love to vacation in Arizona and Nevada but I have foregone my twice a year trip to Las Vegas and Arizona because of their stand on "Sanctuary Cities". I'm sure they won't miss my few dollars but I can't see me supporting their economies. I guess I'll try some southern states this year like Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.

One of my kids wanted a Secretariat and Ron Turcotte cake for his birthday party years ago. My husband and I searched everywhere to find a baker to make one, and we couldn't. They weren't discriminating against our kid. They just didn't have one. That's more than likely what happened here.

I just Googled to see if I could get a "Barack Obama Birthday Cake". Can't find one of those anywhere either.

This story from the Washington Times is nothing but trolling. We have enough problems in this country without making nonsense up.

There's no difference between this and a cake for a gay wedding. Both are being denied for their content. I wouldn't give two craps about this if such a huge deal wouldn't have been thrown over the gay wedding cakes.

Refusing to make a cake for a little kid because you hate Trump is the most childish and vindictive behavior imaginable and I'm glad it's out there for all to see. The left must be so proud.
