Yes but she is not the only one involved. She's not the only one who is a parent. She's not the only one who's life is being affected. I've read about cases where women blackmailed and threatened their partners with getting abortions... or not getting abortions. It only takes one of them to choose life. If the man doesn't want it, he doesn't have to see his child again. But he does have to pay alimony. Now, what's so wrong with holding a woman responsible for her reproductive decisions? Oh, you're all too nonchalant when the man has to be responsible...
Just because a woman gets pregnant doesn't mean she suddenly is responsible for every person who knows her or walks past her. Like everyone else she is only responsible for herself..... she is NOT owned by anyone, owes no one anything.... That's totally irrelevant to women having the right to their own body. That makes no sense. I said, ""I have asked those who think the father should have a "say", what would happen if he said , "abort" ?"""" That is the "say" some whine about, so why shouldn't the woman be forced to abort? You want to force her to have the kid if the father doesn't want an abortion? NO, what you want is for the father to escape all responsibility if HE chooses, you want HIM to have a CHOICE but not the woman... Men pay "support" for their children NOT alimony. If a woman doesn't want a child she gets an abortion and doesn't have to see it again. Fair is fair You STILL don't get the part that it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS what anyone else does with their reproductive decisions. There is nothing wrong with a woman being responsible for her reproduction and having an abortion ... I have no idea what that might mean but yes, men are held responsible for their children when they are BORN... what's "nonchalant" about that?
SO? Medical waste isn't an illegal substance.....what ARE you gong on about? Did you think that fetal remains are incinerated to hide something? What? What is there to hide?
NO ONE is a parent yet...get that through your skull. NO ONE gets to control any one elses body. NO ONE is killing a baby and NO ONE can use their opinion to live some elses life. These are the basic and very simple facts regardless of how much you blather.
Yeah, this may be the rub. I can see the performing facility needing advanced notice on what to do with remains. For some reason, I doubt they are going to wait until the abortion is performed before asking what to do with it. I have to think this law is100% an attempt to obstruct abortions.
Even though she brought a new life into existence, a little life that is entirely dependent on her (Well at least for the first 9 months of its existence).
I'm assuming the disposal can't take place until the family members agree. So they'll probably just keep the fetus in the freezer. What's wrong with that? That's what they already do anyway. Oh wait, I guess sucking the fetus into gooey ooze might be considered a form of disposal. Ok, I understand the issue now. Well that could beg the question: Does a woman have the right to dismember her fetus to make it easier to remove it, or does she merely have the right to remove it. Because some could see this as desecration of a corpse. If the man doesn't give his permission, she may have to have a live birth. (Won't that be traumatic for her with the little fetus moving around until it finally succumbs to death after the first 5 minutes).
YES....Like everyone else she is only responsible for herself..... she is NOT owned by anyone, owes no one anything.... Good to see you finally ADMIT that the fetus IS dependent on her.....
A fetus is part of a woman's body until birth. It her body that feeds it, breathes for it, supports it, etc, etc. The delusion that a fetus is not part of the woman and is therefore an "individual" defies reality. The reality is that if the fetus is detached from the uterus prior to viability it will die. The fetus ONLY exists and survives as PART of the woman. Get back to us when you can deal with reality, m'kay?
Prior to the birth she is the ONLY parent. She is the ONLY person whose life is impacted. How about if you were enslaved 24*7 to raise a child against your will for the next 18 years? I am talking about you being forced to raise an infant ALONE without anyone else to change the diapers, wash the clothes, take them to school and be forced to miss work when the child was sick? Give up promotions and job opportunities to advance your career because you are tied down by this unwanted child? That is the REALITY that YOU are IMPOSING upon someone else! What gives YOU the right to FORCE that upon women?
In the first semester she can have a medically induced abortion that is similar to a miscarriage. Are you going to go poking around in all that expelled uterine blood to find the clot that might be the fetus and then ensure that it is sent to a funeral home for preparation prior to burial? What if you can't even find the fetal tissue? Then what? Do you just decide to give the menstrual blood a burial instead? Does the man involved get to view the menstrual blood prior to burial? Does he get to have a funeral arranged for all of the mourners to come and pay their last respects to his ability to impregnate a woman?
There is only ONE reason anyone would want to do that to women....they will deny it but their misogyny is obvious to everyone but them.....
More American women are dying of pregnancy-related complications than any other developed country. Only in the U.S. has the rate of women who die been rising. But hey, women are expendable
Good post but I'd put a sarcasm warning with ""women are expendable" since there are posters here who actually believe that...
Supposedly such is already had in the united states. Such is what the affordable care act is all about, correct?
No. The ACA does not cover all Americans. Perhaps it could, but I doubt that. And, it certainly can't while our president works for FEWER people to have access.
Positive rights are not the same as negative rights. If I can use an analogy, it's like the difference between passing by a homeless person with a sign that says "Hungry" versus lighting his cardboard box on fire while he's sleeping in it.
