That's what the insurance companies do.. You sure don't know anything about healthcare or Medicare.

People without health insurance don't go t the doctor often enough.
Often things are pretty bad before they will cave in and go to the doctor or the ER.* Its a damned shame really.

All of my points are interconnected. None work without the others.

That's why we need to make cash only for routine care the norm. That WILL drive down costs by removing overhead from the services and making the marketplace competitive.

I would also like to see a law making a person's medical record their own property, not the property of the doctor.

It isn't just third-party payments. Its a whole host of problems. Yet these price controls and regulations in the rest of the developed world has controlled their healthcare costs to a manageable level.

What price controls would you like to see incorporated here and how would you go about putting them into effect?

What points do you have that will make our situation different than the pre-Obamacare days in a way that will dramatically cut costs?

I am not entirely sure. Different countries have different types of price controls depending on the type of system they have. We can first try making regulations and laws that will create more competition and simplify the healthcare system. However we do it, we can't just talk about the government paying for healthcare vs. private people paying without addressing ways to reduce the cost of healthcare itself. Other countries have controlled their costs with government-run and others with more free market systems so I am sure we can work something out.

You are not, however, entitled to the means necessary for that 'good health" to be supplied to you by someone else, under threat of force by the government.
Why do you support state-enforced involuntary servitude?

Cash only routine care with employer support. The employer support is the biggest issue.

Think of it this way. Your employer and your monthly health insurance bill is $1000. Allow employees to opt out of their employer group plans and have that $1000 deposited into an HSA. Employee then goes to a cash only doctor for routine care and pay the monthly subscription, plus any other bills, from that HSA.

Cash only doctors are significantly cheaper than insurance bills for the same procedures. As that market expands, the services and availability will also expand.

Indeed. They very best way to lower the cost of health care is to eliminate all 3rd-party payments.
You want it, you pay for it.

Insulating consumers from the true costs of the goods and services they consume is the very best way to get costs to spiral upwards.

A pretty good article about this. It's the only way I see to.actually bring down costs. Specialists like the one in the article are still pretty rare, but as the general practice market continues to grow and develop, the specialist market will follow suit.

No, he said it. He just didn't know he was speaking the truth.

After all, as a "conservative" the truth and your lips rarely actually meet.

Look back up the thread where the claim is made that bureaucrats get promoted based on their propensity to deny claims.
The attempt, of course, is to equate those government employees to the managers and insurance companies who do indeed get paid and promoted based on their success in denying claims.

If you're going to be involved you need to pay attention.

Uh...there's a reason they spend less.

The insurance companies aren't skimming or more than 15% off the top.

Let's assume it's just 10%... for the sake of discussion...

10% of 3.4 trillion (2016 total spending) is 340 billion dollars in savings. That's $1000 in savings for every man, woman, and child in the US.

Add to that the corporatization of health care providers and the demand for ever growing revenues and profits.

    Me?

I'm not the one arguing in favor of universal health care while thinking I'm arguing against it.

    That would be you.

    Carry on though.

LOL...You are the one who has had your argument so thoroughly debunked that you have resorted to spouting nonsensical gibberish in an attempt to change the subject and end this conversation.
