Hello, I live in Spain but I'm originally from Romania.
I'm interested in some political and economic debates.
My view is that ideologies are nothing else than distractions - useful tools for the rich to divide and rule over the poor, who enter into an "ists" group and who are competing with the other groups of "ists" (socialists, communists, capitalists etc). That keeps them distracted while the rich are looting the economy.
In my view, the universal constant in politics is the people entering politics in order to fill their pockets. So when they get in power, they take the money from the poor and they give it to the rich. More taxes for the poor, less taxes for the rich. Then they get a few coins from the rich, in exchange for doing a good job. Especially today, those "people" stay in line to become the next pet politicians of the super-rich.

This is where I start from, I hope to have interesting debates here and to learn as much as possible.

    Welcome!
I'm sure you'll find plenty of people who both agree with and civilly disagree with you.

Are gonna be another "flash in the pan" newbie or invest some time here?
    What about Catalonia?

    And
Do you have a point of view regarding :flagcanada: other than the usual laissez faire?

Catalonia? Well, I live in Catalonia. Looking from outside and even from the point of view of the immigrants, it looks like a very unfortunate idea to divide Spain, but now that I live here since years, I can say that I have to respect their choice. If the Catalans (and the majority in Catalonia) want to be independent, then their choice should be respected. They have a completely distinct language, so, just like Basque Country, it is a territory occupied by a former empire. For me, it's better if they remain as a part of Spain, but, again, I have to respect their choice.

Unfortunately, the Catalans don't understand what is really going on. They are fooled by the Catalan political elite who takes advantage of the people's frustration with Spain and with the economic crisis. The political-economic mafia of Catalonia simply doesn't want to share the loot with their Spanish bosses. Like a friend of mine said: "The Catalan mafia has guns, while the Spanish mafia has missiles - that's the only difference". Corruption is scary here in Spain, and equally so in Catalonia. Once independent, the local mafia will be free to loot the economy and the poor as they please. Once independent, the prices will explode (the Catalans are a bit similar with the French, and in France everything is way more expensive). The wages will grow too, but not enough to compensate. Also, for the immigrants like me will be much worse, because nobody cares how much the immigrants are exploited and abused. For the immigrants like me, it will be very bad: the same exploitation, the same low wage, but much higher prices for the consumer goods.

I don't have much idea about Canada - just like Spain, looks tragic to break it into French and English speaking territories. However, my Catalan experience tells me that the democratic choice of the majority should be respected. If the French-speaking people want to separate, they should have the freedom to do so.

As for the time invested here, I can't really say much. I really enjoy debates, I participated on other forums too, where I spent a good deal of time - for example arstechnica.com which became so "leftist" lately that they can't stand to see different opinions anymore; this is nothing new - the communists for example are killing people who dare to disagree with them.
I love debates, I learned a lot from them, so I can only hope to have enough time for this.

    Thanks for the welcome!
Unfortunately, the rich people are getting more and more power every day, and they can easily make our lives a nightmare, whenever they want. There's some billions of people out there who already got that nice "gift" from the super-rich, and we are not so special to be spared from that.

Never heard that song and there's nothing Spanish in it, I would say.
Well, those people look like they learn Geography from sites like this:

    Welcome.

You must love our Leader, Donald Trump, as he is already wealthy, and has donated all his salary to charity. How many politicians you admire have done that?

Trump is independently wealthy, thanks in part to having the government pay money to his businesses when he uses them.

God, how I would love to see your reaction to a Democratic official pulling such a stunt!

JFK did it, so good for him. However, the last really good Democrat President I would have voted for (if around at the time) was Grover Cleveland.

Did he really? I haven't seen anything about it. I do see that he was wealthy and donated his salary to charity, though.

JFK not only gave all his presidential salary to charity, but his congressional salary as well. And he could well afford to.

Yep, but what about what you said before? You indicated that he had received money from the government the way Trump has via his properties.

I was just showing the Blizzard guy that not all politicians are in it for the money. Trump and John F. Kennedy both share big egos, like flashy women and crave power. But both are patriots and came to office to serve a purpose greater than themselves.

I do not admire him. I've first seen him in 2004 or 2005, when he was making waves with his super-mega-extra-"intellijent" TV show "The Apprentice". I was instantly feeling like I have to throw up. A disgusting clown. But I've found it 1,000 times more disgusting that so many people adulated him (including those "leftists" who hate him so much these days).
Now he is not a disgusting clown anymore because his position doesn't allow him to be like that. Now he is just a pragmatic guy with his own particular views.
Anyways, IMO the other presidents were a million times worse - miserable puppets of the banking mafia. At least Trump has an independent mind. His problem is that he doesn't follow the orders of the banks.
While Obama was giving some 4 trillion $US to the banks for free (Quantitative Easing), Trump is actually interested to drain the swamp. He wants peace with Russia. He wants to clean the mess in Syria (but the corrupt army generals are fooling him). He wants to stop the impunity of the North Korean president - who is the biggest terrorist in the world and humiliates 25 million people. He is in good terms with president Duterte of Philippines (the strongman who actually cares about the poor and about the workers and wants to protect them from the predators who terrorize them - drug dealers, criminal gangs etc)
Protectionist laws - reducing the trade deficit and keeping the jobs in the country. Unlike Obama's "yes, we can.. send our jobs to the third world".

Unlike the rest of the politicians who are always telling us that they can't do anything, this is a guy who is doing things.
Thanks to his presidency, we got some 4, maximum 8 years of relief. After that, prepare for the worse - anything can happen.

When he was a candidate, I was convinced that he is the perfect clown for the job, just to make sure that Clinton wins the elections. However, the calculations of the plutocracy were not that accurate.
The government gives money to his businesses? Ok, but the other presidents were giving 1,000 more to the companies of their friends, and after that they share the loot.

After stealing millions/billions from the poor tax payers, giving his salary to (fake) charities really doesn't look impressive at all. The Kennedy family didn't made all their wealth by breaking their back working, I guess.
I agree he was a patriot to a certain extent, however, the problem is that the politicians are not really capable to really think for themselves (because they are not interested to invest their energy into it) and then the kings of the finances (Rotschild family) are the ones that are really pulling the strings.
The same with Trump. He is a big inconvenience for the moment, but far from being any significant obstacle in the long term. We'll never see Trump talking about against the wealth inequality, about stopping the legalized tax fraud (tax havens), against the Fed or against the Rothschild family.
Preserving useles money into his own pocket is still a bigger priority for him than actually saving the country (and the world) from the big disasters that are going to "happen" in the next decades.

Aww... not so pessimistic, Comrade! The rich will always need us to wipe their bums, so, they better treat us well or else...!
You didn't listen!!! He sings, "I am the King of SPAIN"
But, o.k., it is a Canadian group. I find them funny and I like the tune and "driving the Zamboni" at Sky Dome (Toronto). Oh, how funny! But to call Germany the "Dirty Porn" country is shocking. Those corrupt Americans!!

Your English is flawless. Where did you learn it? In Romania??

O.k., I wont keep you any longer. Get busy in the politics!!

    Oh yes,
Oh yes, of course they grow cantaloupes in Catalonia. The political mafia is transforming us all into unsuspecting cantaloupes:
    Moors & Sicilians .. & Cantaloupes

You are happy because you live in the West, where you can still benefit from a plethora of rights. That's not the case with the vast majority of the poor people in this world.
In places like Romania, Mexico, Venezuela, Nepal, Sudan etc, and pretty much everywhere in the third world, if you are poor, then your life is a true nightmare.

Or else the people will look at more Game of Thrones, pornography, "super-intelligent" TV shows, sports, MSM news in order to grow their brains.
Sorry for being so realistic but I can see what is going on. The people don't give a damn about what is going on. They just want a a good life, and distractions.

Not shocking, Germany is well known for their strange pornography and group sex.
First I learned English in school but that was a very small part of it. Then I learned it by reading computer news over the internet and by watching CNN (before they became super-disgusting).

There is a vast amount of words that I can't memorize, no matter how hard I try. I started to write down such words, when I see them, in a text file: spurt, ragtag, gallows, cringe, tine, slender, pantry, reek, flunky, drudge, conch, stash, tang, prong, smirk, bilge, hone, abreast, paunchy, shrewd, etc

I have no love for Globalists, the UN or the EU. The Banking Cartel is just another arm of it.
