From what I understand, there is still a huge difference. When Wilson said it, it was ABOUT fallen troops; when trump said it, it was TO the mother of a fallen troop.

I can't say that trump was trying to be intolerably contemptuous. However, I CAN say that he shows plenty of evidence of being unable to empathize, unable to be compassionate, unable to feel what others feel, and unable to feel suffering of others, all likely due to his recognized and documented psychological handicaps and his emotional problems. It would be eye-opening to learn how his father treated him as a kid.

The problem with a "moron" president (the label Rex Tilerson used) is he has no clue that the grieving process is not usually the same and as intense 30 years on. And this was a dedication to a building so describing the heroic agents who knew what risks they were taking (30 years on) has a different meaning then telling a mother who is dealing with a traumatic recent death that her "son knew he could die when he signed up". "Moron" Trump doesn't realize that the soldier's Widow/ Mother are still in shock and have fresh wounds. Trump doesn't have the depth to understand this. Then he hurls names at the congresswomen who has had a long relationship with the Johnson family. That family was in total alignment with the congresswomen's assessment of Trump's behavior on the phone. So Trump is really calling the Gold Star Family flakes since they are in alignment and of the same mindset with the Congresswomen s description of Trump's ugly phone behavior.
