He didn't stop the shooting, unless I'm hearing the news wrong and there aren't more than two dozen dead people, and scores of injured people.

Can you post a link where I can see what the shooter's next target was? Because I never heard it. Was he going to another church? Someone's home? A gas station?

Yes, for about a week, I have been receiving emails from conservative sites warning that Antifa was planning national violence.

Why would you ask me what I expected the neighbor to do?

You keep bringing up how he didn't stop the attack, but why would he be expected to? Why even mention that at all?

Yes, it would have been more helpful if it was invite a neighbor to bring his gun Sunday, last Sunday. Just a guess, but you don't normally do a lot of deep thinking at work do you? Your response above is incredibly shallow.

Welcome to politicalforum. You'll fit right in with the others who don't debate but instead make ignorant personal comments.

He absolutely did according to the Texas officials today.

It was a live press conference in my local news channel app on my phone. No link to give, but I did the leg work for you and found it:

The order of events given by the first guy show the citizen fired upon the shooter(and hit him) then the shooter dropped his weapon and fled.

They dont know if he had another target.

Facts were, dude was shooting up the church, got shot by an armed citizen and fled the scene. You can try and make the argument that the shooter was done... but I don’t buy that for a second.

I didn't expect him to stop anything. You seem confused.

Nobody was able to stop the attack. It happened. So we should focus out of respect for the dead people on the attack that happened. I admire anyone who comes out with a gun as this guy did. But that's an anecdote to the story, and not the story. The story is 26 dead people, many of them children. And how do we try to stop it from happening again.

Your comment made little sense and certainly did not add to the debate. Perhaps if you actually debated the responses you got in return would be more to your liking?

Thanks. I'll watch the news tonight and see what they share with us about where the shooter was headed after this church. I can't watch that link on this computer. I watched the news earlier and they said nothing about where he was going and who else he planned to kill.

I would suggest removing gun free zones which basically equate to killing zones.

Supposedly from someone who attended Antifa meetings. I didn't pay it much thought or even read the articles completely. But this shooting meshes with Antifa's trajectory. Then there's the crackpot who put Rand Paul in the Hospital. Maybe it is, maybe not.

I don't want to have to put security details in places of public because of nutjobs. At the same time, the guns are out there`. A compromise on the gun registry idea would be that the owners would remain anonymous on the registry and could only be accessed with a warrant(no differently than a search warrant, etc.) I think that's a decent idea for starters.

(I'd love to overhaul the system into a Singapore-esque system, but many have disliked the idea. Such a shame since I also think it's a fair compromise.)

    Antifa and Rand Paul?

Just curious if you've caught up with any of the news today on this shooting. I don't think you have if you're still trying to tie it to Antifa.

Perhaps this clarifies why the man actually stopped the attack.

After leaving the gas station, the gunman crossed the street, got out of his car and sprayed First Baptist Church's right side with his rifle, Martin said. He then entered the church and continued to fire until a local resident grabbed Kelley's rifle, forcing him to drop it and flee. The resident pursued Kelley, who drove off the road and crashed, Martin said.

They didn’t say anything about that whatsoever.

He fled after being shot, texted his dad saying he was shot, then offed himself(most likely is what it looks like to investigators).

I know what happened. He fled, contacted his father, and then died, whether at his own hand or the gunshot wounds he received outside the church.

So if they didn't say they knew what his post-church shooting plans were, then the statement "he saved lives" can't be made. Besides, what does any of that have to do with what did happen? I think this guy is brave for doing what he did. But he isn't the "story" here. It's the dead people and the shooting in a house of worship.
