that surprises me too, I did not think Texas would require gun owners to ask the government for permission to conceal their guns

Since an air force clerk failed to do their job and report to NICS? Yes dear, that would be what is commonly referred to as "user error".

O my god people have rights!!!! Won't someone think of the children!!

What do you want, a waiting period? The clerk DIDN'T REPORT IN 12. He bought in 16.
A waiting period wouldn't stop this, not that it is constitutional either but just practically speaking.

From what I am reading EVERY Air Force Clerk is not doing his job since this almost never makes it into the NICS

And there is every reason NOT to allow domestic abusers to have guns. They've lost that pivelege

And there's plenty of men who have been falsely accused.

Their girlfriends can get very vindictive right after an angry argument. 90% of the time, if the woman says the man touched her first they'll arrest him. Then he'll often have to plead guilty to get his involvement in the legal system over as quick as possible, especially if he can't afford a lawyer.

I do not believe in taking away the rights of citizens once they have done their time, that said, sounds like this guy should of done a lot more time
I also do not believe in the sex offender list, I think rapists and child molester so dangerous they need to be on a list should be locked up for life, same goes of those two dangerous to own a gun

end the war on drugs and plenty of space in prison for violent criminals

So you'd prefer to have domestic abusers armed?

They've proven they are violent already and in far too many cases...these mass shooters were domestic abusers first

How about only if there are two witnesses to the alleged act. And only if one of the witnesses isn't a child of the other one.

Plenty of men have been wrongly convicted of (or more often coerced into pleading guilty to) domestic violence because they had a crazy mentally unstable girlfriend. And it's not uncommon for these women to manipulate their little children into collaborating their version of events to vindictively "get back" at the man. I'd say it might be as high as 5% of the male population.

    It's in their nature.

Reports are now that the perpetrator had some mental issues and had domestics problems in the past which may have led to the violence. But still some of the hate filled deluded and treasonous right wingers were out to cry:

    BLAME ANTIFA!
    BLAME CLINTON!
    BLAME DEMOCRATS!
    BLAME LIBERALS!
    BLAME OBAMA!

These projections because they cannot accept responsibility for the problems they create. As usual, their lies and projections are debunked. Time will tell what is the next series of headlines that they will use to project their blame, hate, and treason.

It's funny reading posts about the need for more background checks. Does anyone seriously think I need one to get a gun? In Texas???

And I'd bet that zero of those gangbangers up in Chicago who are killing their own apply for a permit.

I suppose the government could more tightly control the retail sale of rifles with large capacity magazines. It might help a little. Sigh.

Trump is right, this is more of a mental illness problem.

Well, in this case, the guy beat up both his wives -- and cracked his infant's skull open.

That sounds BRILLIANT! I mean, it's rare that a husband DOESN'T beat his wife in front of a minimum of two people!

But seriously, what kind of dumb idea is that?

No I didn’t. I said this thread was based on an article from a website that claimed Katy Perry was a cannibalism advocate. That website is yournewswire.

if they are too dangerous to have a gun that should be addressed during sentencing, once a persons done their time for a crime, that should be the end of it

constitutional rights are not privileges, if we want to make gun ownership like a license to drive, they I would agree with you.. right should be treated differently

when you have to have the privilege to have a right, they are no longer rights, they are privileges

if one yells fire in a theater, should their rights to free speech be revoked for life or should they do their time and move on, punishment it what a sentence is about, if we want longer sentences, that is the place to do it

    Texas Constitution, Article 1, Section 23 =

"Sec. 23. RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime."

So one day everyone in church will be blazing away shooting each other and when the cops show up they will plug all of the survivors. This is going to be fun to watch.
