Trump digs a bigger hole for himself every time he opens his mouth or tweets.

He has now exposed his tax reform motives by boasting to wealthy friends that "You all just got a lot richer,".

This is self-exposure by Trump of his misdeeds which should result in Trump and his obeisant, sycophantic bunch of GOP lawmakers being fired by the voters at the next opportunity.

Despite what liberals believe the rich are also Americans and of course some will benefit from a tax break like the majority of Americans will especially since the rich pay a vast majority of the taxes.

The top 1 percent of income earners, those having an adjusted annual gross income of $480,930 or higher, pay about 39 percent of federal income taxes. That means about 892,000 Americans are stuck with paying 39 percent of all federal taxes.

The top 10 percent of income earners, those having an adjusted gross income over $138,031, pay about 70.6 percent of federal income taxes.

About 1.7 million Americans, less than 1 percent of our population, pay 70.6 percent of federal income taxes. Is that fair, or do you think they should pay more?

By the way, earning $500,000 a year doesn’t make one rich. It’s not even yacht money.

These cries for socialism are just sad. Just come out and admit what you are and stop pretending.

I don't care if the rich get filthy rich as long as it is not at the expense of the non-rich. I'm willing to see what happens with this new tax bill. If it is bad, Trump needs to change it or risk losing in 2020.

Person 1 makes $50,000 a year. They pay $10,000 in taxes.

Person 2 makes $1 million a year. They Pay $350,000 in taxes.

    A tax cut is passed.

    Person 1 now pays $5,000 in taxes, a reduction of $5,000 (50%).

    Person 2 now pays $300,000 in taxes, a reduction of $50,000 (14%).

Person 1 now whines because person 2 received 10 times as much of a tax reduction as they did, ignoring the fact that person 2 pays 60 times as much in taxes as person 1.

Why did you give him $50,000 when I only get $5,000?

This is the Democrat strategy and the liberal media pushes it, even though it is totally illogical.

People who pay little or no taxes can't possibly benefit as much as people that pay high taxes because there's no room to reduce taxes below zero.

Not good with math? Some even get a 100% decrease in taxes since the new rates make the tax code even more progressive knocking more off the roles.

    https://www.npr.org/2017/12/19/5717...h-of-gop-tax-cuts-will-go-to-the-middle-class

A guy who makes $50K will see and extra $800, a 1.4% increase. If the same guy made $500K he would receive $21,000, a 4.3% increase. 25 times what the guy in the lower income bracket gets. The $50K guy gets a tax increase by 2025 while the $500K guy still gets a $1500 cut.

    Charts in the above link.

Awesome. Statement of fact. With few exceptions, everyone got a lot richer.

Lower income people should take a lesson from the rich, and do what is necessary to become one. That way you can give away your money to your hearts desire.

I recommend reading "The Pursuit of Happiness" by Chris Gardner.

Much better than the fiction the alt-left has created for so many.

So no, no real world 50% reduction. But you got a few that believed.
