Why should Trump waste his time with CNN?

And he politely told them none of their ideas would be considered.

Ah love the demands don’t you remember elections have consequences? The wall won’t stop all but will stop most that are walking across now. We must have borders to get this under control, there is no doubt this must happen.

The wall must be built and no more visa lotteries or chain migration, period.

Isn't this the meeting where Republicans had to keep President Super Negotiator from agreeing with the Democrats' position?

Trump Accidentally Agreed To Supporting A "Clean DACA Bill" Before Republicans Stopped Him

I am opposed to compromise with this administration. Trump cannot be trusted, and it will provide him with a 'victory' which he will turn into political capital. I am in favor of negotiating with republican congressional leaders who have proven that their word can be kept. Dems should not negotiate in good faith with liars, cheaters, and or slimeball businessmen who prefer bullying their opposition, to behaving honorably. Treat his offers with contempt and disdain. Give him nothing.

When? 2010. Obama attends House Republican Conference to defend Healthcare bill.

One small difference: Obama understood what he was talking about.

I commend what Trump did. But his lack of understanding of the issues became even more clear.

Where he basically said ‘I won, you lost. Elections have consequences, now F off’ (not exact quotes, but that was the message)

I don’t see anything wrong with it btw, but you only pointed out half the story.

It's interesting to watch this in light of what we know now.... Do you know what they said? They said that Republicans had offered a plan that would cover more people and wouldn't cost a penny.

Seriously... here is the link.. It's around the 1 hour mark.

    https://www.c-span.org/video/?291730-1/presidential-remarks-house-republican-conference

What else could Obama say but "That's just not true"

This is the crap that they sold the dummies at the Tea Party. And to this day... they have no plan, no idea what to do.... but they still hate Obamacare.... And they have no idea why...

Sure. That's why Trump found double-digit unemployment, a recession, the stock market in the 7 thousands, the auto industry about to collapse, the whole economy in a shambles....

No! He didn't. Obama fixed it for you guys.

A simple "thank you" would be in order, don't you think?

To best understand what's happening, watch the entire 54 minute meeting at the link bellow and avoid reading what any of the media is reporting. Then use your own critical thinking skills to determine what might be in our future. Seems to me there are good people on both sides that truly want to solve the problems and this meeting is a major step towards getting something done.

That is apples to oranges. No one wants to go to North Korea, let alone break the law. They will drag you into a room and you will meet your master.

Again, even border patrol is saying the wall will be ineffective in some area.

And, unlike Obama, Trump was very polite and cordial. Recall Obama's statement to John McCain that the election is over?

No. Trump is obviously terrified to sit down with CNN.

That UNPREPARED IMBECILE will only sit down with Fox because that unprincipled butt-kissing comedian Hannity provides him with all of the softball questions in advance.

Trump sit down with CNN? :roflol:

That IMMATURE Whiny POS would be like a deer in the headlights.

    Donald Trump? :roflol:

He didn't seem like a negotiator. He seemed like a salesman, saying whatever he thought someone wanted to hear.

By the end of the meeting he had said something for everyone.

He agreed at one point that it would be ok to do a "Dream Act" (taking care of DACA) alone followed by comprehensive immigration reform, then quickly changed to say that he meant that the "Dream Act" alone would also need to include all the things that would be included in comprehensive reform.

The "I will sign whatever you give me" position: "I think my positions are going to be what the people in this room come up with," Trump said. "If they come to me with things I'm not in love with, I'm going to do it. Because I respect them."

That is not leadership. That is following the lead of others.

The man speaks in platitudes. General ideas that can't be pinned down, so he can always wriggle out.

This whole thing was a charade to make it appear as though he is in control, that he is leading and guiding this process. But can anyone say exactly what his position is on immigration reform? Not what you want his position to be, but what he actually said unequivocally and consistently during that meeting?

Based on the reports I have read, he basically just agreed with whatever someone said, and concluded with, "I will sign whatever deal you guys bring to me."

He wants something he can point to as another legislative win. He doesn't care what is in that bill, as long as he can take the credit for signing it. If Congress brings him something - anything - to sign, he will sign it.

Edit - and he said he would "take the heat" if the bill was not exactly what he wanted. The opposite is true. By saying he would sign whatever they give him, he is abdicating any responsibility for the contents. If someone (later) criticises him over the contents of any bill, he will just say, "It's not my fault - that is what they gave me. Blame them."

The guy should have a sign on his desk reading, "The buck stops anywhere else, but not here."

Should border security include some of Boston Dynamics robotic prototypes, allowing real time testing? Should swarms of drones be employed for testing and security?

tRUmp lack of depth of understanding the issues and process were on full display. He was moving back and forth like a pendulum. Way out of his depth, whatever you put in from of him he will sign...... he better study up on the 5th, he is gonna need it.
