When the second amendment was exercised at Walmart all the bad behavior ended. The hair puller retreated to her children and order was restored promptly on private property.

I see this as a double edged sword.
Sure, it's going to prevent a lot of confrontations and stop crime, but on the other side of the coin one would expect it to also make confrontations more deadly when they do happen. So there are some pros and cons here.

Might it be too much of a stretch here to draw an analogy to the Cold War doctrine of "mutually assured destruction" as a means of keeping the peace?

Looks more like poor judgment than exercising the Second Amendment. The right to bear arms, OK. Carrying a concealed weapon, OK. Using poor judgment and deciding to pull a pistol in a crowded Wal-Mart, not OK. I carry a concealed pistol almost 100% of the time when I am away from home. I would never have taken my gun out in a situation like this.

Have you ever been a member of an armed society? Locally, we have a lot of armed people, and in general, people are polite.

Well then you have never Been to Switzerland.
Where owing a military weapon is sometimes mandatory.
Also how to hide it.Which explains why Hitler never
    fooled around with Switzerland.

I don't know, I knew a man in Ticino who was extremely bipolar and would sometimes go into uncontrollable bouts of depressive desperation or rage. He told them he was afraid he might do something he would later regret and tried to return the weapons back. They allowed him to return the three grenades he'd been issued, but told him he'd still have to keep the military assault rifle in his home. It's probably a little different in each canton, and this was 20 years ago.

But in Switzerland they have to prove it to the government. Most of those gun owners are military trained unlike the US

Switzerland is NOT the United States. They remain Neutral
    during Wars.Imagine if the U.S. remained " neutral "
    during either WWI or WWII.
The World would be in a much more precarious place.
One could make the case that Switzerland is being highly
selfish. In fact,if an American male wants to marry a Female
Swiss Miss, they have to wait a full 7 years.Meaning limited
    Visa travel as well.

My point is simple.Switzerland is quite unique.
Their Gun laws are unique within the world and
    also their marriage requirements.
Plus they take off for lunch.Banks are closed during
Lunch hours.Where dogs are allowed to sit alongside
their owners helping to enjoy lunch.
I saw it firsthand in Lucerne.Having stayed at the
    Hotel Carlton.

    Okey Dokey.Cite your examples.
But you will also need to disprove mine, while
    you are at it.
The left is lazy. They feel no need whatever to prove
their opposition wrong. They just accuse and insist they
    lie and are wrong.
The Right does not debate that way.
Of course it wasn't the Right who helped create
the KKK and Jim Crow,as well.

Gun CONTROL =/= gun BAN. I know the NRA says otherwise but they're trying to sell more guns and making you afraid of government is a proven way to drive sales.

It's the most civilian gun populated place in the world, and people of all ages and colors who look like trash are extremely polite.

I have to agree. I have been in some seriously precarious situations and not used a weapon. However, I wasn't there, so I can't really say. All I can say is that if I point my weapon at someone, they are very likely a dead man walking.
