Foreign women living under virtual slavery in Saudi Arabia

    Women from Indonesia go to Saudi Arabia to work as domestic laborers, but once there many find slave-like conditions and are unable to leave.
    Some suffer physical or sexual abuse.

    The below video is from a Danish documentary, but many of the interviews are in English and there are English subtitles.



    This video shows a family in Saudi Arabia beating a domestic laborer in their household, most likely because something went missing in their home and they suspected she must have been the one who stole it. She's hanging upside down suspended from the ceiling.

    But what about the wives in these households, you may ask. They turn and look the other way. Sometimes they are the one abusing the domestic laborers.

    It's gotten so bad, Indonesia placed a ban on any more of their domestic laborers going to Saudi Arabia, although the ban hasn't really worked. Now there are women coming from other countries like the Philippines and Ethiopia.

    The KSA is a horrible place. I had the unfortunate situation of being stationed there. The populated areas put on a front, similar to North Korea, that everyone is happy. But they have religious police that in many areas, can enforce religious law. Hell, in many places music in public is forbidden. The women of that enslaved society need to be freed. I hope one day they have a revolution.

    Saudi's do not work. All their work is done by 'outside labor'. I had a friend who went there for a high level police job. Within a month he was back home again. He said he didn't go there to be treated like a slave.

    Even if there is a revolution there is still the Book and the Hadith. A large contingent of adherents will be left to reestablish living by the Book and the Hadith.

    Do any of you read the news?

    As there been not a few cases of women being imported to the US by Christians and mistreated including being beaten for that matter and treated as slaves.

    Indonesia lifted the ban.. What do you think of sex trafficking in Atlanta, Georgia. Are you as concerned about the 4,000 underaged girls trafficked every day?

    If you don't want to be treated like some illegal mexican trying to earn that desperate buck, than just don't go the SA. Rather simple. You aint the boss their. it's weird to think Americans think they are. lol
