Ouch that has to hurt the Orange Emperor's fragile ego.

So why the Gowdy change all of a sudden? Seems like Gowdy's conscience may have finally caught up with him all these years. Gowdy announced his plan to retire from politics a couple days ago or so. Speculation was that he was vying for a federal judgeship or even AG position. However, this DOESN'T sound like a man who is going the Trump Loyalty Dance that is necessary to get the Cheetoh Don's nod of approval.

    Gowdy goes on:

"There is a Russia investigation without a dossier."

Gowdy pretty much knocking the Nunes Memo out of the water single-handedly. Strange....

It's more likely that the Trump's "Deep ****" finally got to him.

Agreed, it's just the natural self-serving actions that flourish in a byzantine bureaucracy. it's natural and mostly without malicious intent, but still, taken in total, evil. Bureaucracies just need to be chopped in half from time to time.

    Here's one MikeGriffith missed.

    Trey Gowdy

As I have said repeatedly, I also remain 100 percent confident in Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The contents of this memo do not - in any way - discredit his investigation.

Here’s one that’s never reported that came before that tweet by a couple minutes:

“It is important for the American public to know if the dossier was paid for by another candidate, used in court pleadings, vetted before it was used, vetted after it was used, and whether all relevant facts were shared with the tribunal approving of the FISA application.”

Also this one from right after the above:

“While this memo raises serious concerns with the FISA process, I have been and remain confident in the overwhelming majority of the men and women serving at the FBI and DOJ.”

Honestly I'm not aware of any reason to not believe Gowdy. As far as I know he hasn't been involved in any personal scandals(he may be, I'm just unaware)and I haven't seen him do anything to contribute to the political divide we're seeing as a nation. As of the moment, he is probably the only politician I see as trustworthy. So if he says something, I'm not going to take it as gospel, but it certainly holds weight with me.

Kinda funny he says it's important to know "if"..
"the dossier was paid for by another candidate, used in court pleadings, vetted before it was used, vetted after it was used, and whether all relevant facts were shared with the tribunal approving of the FISA application.”"

When the memo alleges those to be facts.

You said deep state. Don't you know that term is right up there with area 51 and astrology? I am pretty sure miss Cleo is the one who coined deep state.

We don't know exactly, because Simpson refused to testify as to his sources(as well as payment), and the DOJ has also blocked inquiries into this matter. That being said, it's very strongly implied by various reports over the past month.

It is a useful term understanding non-democratic or quasi-democratic nations like Turkey, Egypt etc, where law has no real writ. In the case of America & other western democracies it functions as an idiot detector. The irony in this situation is that it is being used to attack a completely lawful and constitutional process. Pure partisanship.

I love how all of these guys that I have long considered to be a massive pain in the ass start to act like rational and decent leaders when they decide it is time to leave public office.

I want to repeat this quote to every Trumpette who thinks that memo had any significant impact on the investigation.

Paul Ryan and Trey Gowdy have both stated the "memo" has nothing to do with the Mueller investigation and they are correct however, the right wing hype over the memo would persuade the more gullible folks that this was not the case and the "memo" maligns the Mueller investigation. A classic example of a more gullible person is of course the buffoon-in-chief himself, who tweeted this gem yesterday:

"This memo totally vindicates “Trump” in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace! - Trump tweet Feb 3.

The buffoon is clearly delusional and totally desperate. He also brain dead when it comes to what his own party is saying about the Mueller investigation. The poor deluded soul knows what is coming though, and he is petrified.....;)

Do you believe the ONLY Russian interference in the election was through alleged Trump collusion?

    Immaterial, Bluesguy.

The Russian interference that Mueller is investigating (so far as the public knows) is that with the Trump campaign staff.
