This is the problem with both parties. They paint the extreme minority behavior as the vast majority.
Sure, their is some abuse, but do you believe all business owners are evil A$$holes poisoning everything?

We don't? If I'm doing an honest days work, eating, not being homeless and paying the utility bills shouldn't be in question. If someone is doing more than me and in return getting more than basic survival, that's fine but basic survival should be, well, BASIC. I shouldn't work for wages that force me into effective slavery and debt so some billionaire can make MORE money.

Rulers thinking the underclass do not matter, and starve for political reasons (imperial glory largely- like selling the populations food to other nations to expand wars or build new palaces - or just shear profit).
