WASHINGTON – Russian operatives sought to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, including in support of supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald Trump, special counsel Robert Mueller charged on Friday in an indictment of 13 Russian nationals and a Kremlin-linked internet research firm.

In the indictment, Mueller charged that some of the Russians, posing as Americans, "communicated with unwitting individuals" associated with Trump's 2016 campaign "to seek to coordinate political activities."

The charges include violations of campaign finance laws, conspiracy and identity theft and failing to register as agents of a foreign government.

They are the latest salvo in Mueller's investigation of Russian election interference. Last year, prosecutors brought charges against four people tied to Trump's campaign, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his top national security aide Mike Flynn.

Prosecutors allege that the Russian Internet Research Agency and others spread messages on social media to promote Trump's candidacy and to criticize his political rival Hillary Clinton. They also alleged that some of the Russian operatives organized rallies supporting Trump and traveled to the United States to gather information.

I think this marks the end of the beginning of the Eurasian dream. It all started with series of FSB video recordings of perverted relationships of a "then businessman" during his business trip to Moscow, circa 2011. He got blackmailed as the world was about to get raped.
Now his irresponsible, egocentric, selfish, and perverted actions that made him a Russian puppet will sure too end him up getting a proper impeachment.

DOJ said these 13 were "APPEARING/POSING AS AMERICANS" .

I'll be in Atlanta next month and the first thing I'll do is to visit the state's FBI HQ to turn in what I found about some posters who are too APPEARING/POSING as Americans. They might as well be linked to what DOJ called "RUSSIAN CONSPIRACY" !

HEY I have said all along that I was much much much more concerned that Russian even attempted to interfere than I was with Trump or his gang of Trumpeizdas actually clouding with the Russians. I have said that Russian had attempted to interfere with out elections that is an attack on our nation. I have always said that Russia is an enemy of the USA>

I have always said that there were or even are Americans some may or may not have been in the trump campaign who were "Usefull Idiots".

This indictment proves that there were "unwitting" Americans who helped Russians and the Americans may not have realized that they were working with Russians.

The point is that Russia attempted to interfere with our election and even if they did not make an impact their interference was an act of war.

Unless the Russian 'posing' was so poor the individuals associated with Trump's campaign were 'criminally' unwitting, don't see how this could imply Trump's collusion.

True, it's hostile for Russia to do that. But if that's an act of war, the US has always been guilty of it. If barely tapping into our elections is the act of war, what do you call Obama arming Libyan rebels and using drones to help kill their sovereign leader?

Those who rule America need to get out of it. The is no collusion, there is no election tampering, unless of court you are talking about those in the Deep State and in the Clandestine State of these United States. I mean come on now, how many nations has those who meddled with and swayed, bribed and extorted in the past three years? Many would be surprised if they found out the answer. Then again, they might be happy, walking chests poked out, head and shoulders back. The entire scene would be disgusting but them again . . .

America has to repeal the Immigration Act of 1965 that allows so many foreigners into America on tourist, business, work, diplomatic and student visas and start enforcing the immigration laws that are on the books.

Before 1965 every non citizen including legal immigrants were required to report to the DOJ where they are living and exactly what they are doing in America.

Anyone who was around before 1965 remember the DOJ commercials on television and the radio reminding all non citizens they had to report to the DOJ by a certain date. Every year they ran these commercials, they stopped in 1965.

One has to wonder under the PC Immigration Act of 1965 how many foreign sleeper cells are now living in America.

DUH!!! LOL The PC crowd is so naïve. And they want to run the country!

The Russians were doing no different than what Obama and Crooked Hillary were doing. "PUTIN'S REVENGE"

The U.S. is no stranger to interfering in the elections of other countries

The CIA has accused Russia of interfering in the 2016 presidential election by hacking into Democratic and Republican computer networks and selectively releasing emails. But critics might point out the U.S. has done similar things.

The U.S. has a long history of attempting to influence presidential elections in other countries – it's done so as many as 81 times between 1946 and 2000, according to a database amassed by political scientist Dov Levin of Carnegie Mellon University.

That number doesn't include military coups and regime change efforts following the election of candidates the U.S. didn't like, notably those in Iran, Guatemala and Chile. Nor does it include general assistance with the electoral process, such as election monitoring.

Levin defines intervention as "a costly act which is designed to determine the election results [in favor of] one of the two sides." These acts, carried out in secret two-thirds of the time, include funding the election campaigns of specific parties, disseminating misinformation or propaganda, training locals of only one side in various campaigning or get-out-the-vote techniques, helping one side design their campaign materials, making public pronouncements or threats in favor of or against a candidate, and providing or withdrawing foreign aid.

In 59% of these cases, the side that received assistance came to power, although Levin estimates the average effect of "partisan electoral interventions" to be only about a 3% increase in vote share.

The U.S. hasn't been the only one trying to interfere in other countries' elections, according to Levin's data. Russia attempted to sway 36 foreign elections from the end of World War II to the turn of the century – meaning that, in total, at least one of the two great powers of the 20th century intervened in about 1 of every 9 competitive, national-level executive elections in that time period.

In fact bH Obama did much the same in Israel. Thiis is noothing buut Muekler trying to justify this witch hunt with something that has been public knowledge for months, and has been going on for decades.

    This is it?

"The indictment, brought by the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, represents the most direct allegation to date of illegal Russian meddling during the election. It says Russians created bogus Internet postings, posed online as American political activists and fraudulently purchased advertisements — all with the goal of swaying political opinion during the bitterly contested race".

That's all there is. No one gets in trouble here. Drain the swamp or become part of it? Votes will have to drain the swamp Term limits would help. Isn't it about time? I'm tired of the corruption.

Actually all started sometime around 2010-2011 when Trump visited Moscow and got offered tons of juicy "government deals" but rejected... They got him in a suit in Ritz tho... Obama did many things wrong too...

Why on Earth would they do such a thing as repeal the Immigration Act of 1965? There is a need for more immigration into these United States of [North] America and those who demand it will cause a war, if they do not get their way. :machinegun:

Indicting Russians that are out of the country, pretty much insures that they won't show up to testify against Nellie Ohr and others.

Obama didn't shut down the two Russian compounds for nothing... It was more about covering his own tail...

Also means that Mueller's contaminated Grand Jury is worthless against indicting
    Americans.

How many times did Rosenstein say that no Americans were part of the indictment?

Judge Emmett Sullivan was probably impressed with Mueller's CYA move after Judge Contreras was thrown off of the Flynn case. (Yep, Contreras did not recuse himself. He was thrown off !)

The political classes, most of them, are adept at fomenting war through labeling their deeds under "National Security" which I do not buy for a second. There is not that much National Security that there are literal warehouses full of information, and why does the Central Intelligence Agency of this country have "Fact Sheets" and "Fact Books" on the natural resources of just about every nation on this planet, if it has nothing to do with fomenting wars so that there is a cover for skullduggery? This is why every time they speak about threats, I think, “Let the games begin”.

    How many more immigrants ? 50 million ? 100 million ? 250 million ?

That's a whole lot of crap load of poverty, uneducated and unskilled immigrants.

The Dillingham Commission (political progressives) recommended to Congress that America's population should be capped at 170 million...-> https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/mb?a=listis;c=1425704207

The 1965 immigration act was America shooting itself in the foot.

We were brain dead in the 1960's.

    I was ONLY BEING FACETIOUS!

I complain all of the time about this nation being overcrowded but there is absolutely nothing that I can do about it.
