How can you say gun control works when we had no school shootings when we had no gun control and now after gun control we have lots of them. You just are not making sense here. I'd look more towards the corsening of our society with violent movies that glorify murder along with violent music and video games and "mean girls" on social media that didn't used to exist. An entire school can now shun and ostracize a social misfit without ever saying anything to his or her face. The result of that mass bullying are evident and I believe in large part responsible for these school shootings. These kids need to start looking at themselves and how they treat each other and quit looking for some law to protect them from the results of their own actions. Taking my guns won't save their lives.

I'd like to see a survey of liberal school teachers and what percentage of them have a CC license.

    Good post.

Absolutely correct. Just yesterday I had a long phone conversation with a newly retired university professor friend of mine who told me he carried in the classroom all the time - just in case. It was against university policy (of course), but he did it anyway - discretely and with no problems.

Of course, they would deny that. But that is effectively the policy. It's the "Remain Helpless and Die" policy.

You would think this would be a no brainer.

    3. They already are. Not my opinion, fact.
    4. None
    6. None. Private citizens are not required to take action. Only police are required to take action. Private citizens may take action; they are not required to.
    7. On their person is the safest place.
8, 9, 10, 12. The weapon should be well-concealed on the teacher's person. Whether or not a teacher was armed would be a closely guarded secret ... just like with my friend. No one ever noticed his weapon.
    13. The training shouldn't be "rudimentary", and the alternative is being killed with no opportunity to fight back.
    14. This is a concern that can be addressed in training.

    Exactly right.

A desire to survive and/or protect crosses ideological lines.

You are not making sense. Our violent movies and video games are all over the world. Social media is all over the world. Mean girls exist all over the world. What does not exist is our level of gun deaths in the developed world. What is the difference? They have gun control and we do not. It is so very simple

Once again you ignore the fact that when we had no gun laws we had no school shootings. Possibly you are saying our culture is different now and we can no longer be trusted with guns like we could 40 years ago. Is that your point?

    Correlation vs. causation

    Look it up.

"A correlation between variables, however, does not automatically mean that the change in one variable is the cause of the change in the values of the other variable. Causation indicates that one event is the result of the occurrence of the other event; i.e. there is a causal relationship between the two events."

In this instance there is no correlation between increased gun laws and decreased school shootings as proponents of gun laws seem to suggest so I'd agree that there is no correlation between more gun laws and less school shootings.

    That is not true...Prove it.

Lets use Australia as an example.

    Then try Somalia...

Then Sweden, China, Dubai, etc etc

    Then the USA...

I'm talking about in America. When we had no gun laws we also had no school shootings so obviously in America it's not about guns or gun laws it's about American society.

First you have to admit you have a problem before you can work on solving it. The left needs to admit the problem is our society then we can work on fixing it. Gun laws is at best a bandaid and more likely a placebo.

Who wants to do nothing? There's other things besides gun laws. Gun laws is doing nothing. Gun laws is a way to say there, we did something but in reality you did nothing at all. It's already against the law to go into a school and open fire in case you hadn't noticed.

Well that makes since...seeing as how before gun laws, the USA did not consist of 51+ states and territories all with counties and schools....WTF dude. :juggle:

That statement makes as much since as well before humans we did not have pollution.

No, that limp wristed group of people would never touch a gun, and if attacked would be useless if they did.

There are plenty of teachers who already carry a firearm at their jobs NOW. Let the rest of the ones in nanny states do it.

    THIS IS NOT NEW.

What about simply locking the doors to learning facilities during established hours, to prevent unauthorized access from occurring? Why are the doors left unlocked, with security so lax that someone carrying a rifle can walk right inside without ever being noticed? Millions of individuals the world over lock their doors when either leaving their place of residence, or turning in for the evening. Why is the same not done at learning facilities?
