I found 100 yards to be useful in sighting in Rifles "if" you take other very important factors into account. Remington 1100 - 12 gage shotgun, smoothbore slug barrel w Rifle sights, hits center of pie plate easily and consistently at 100 yards, standing, off hand, no rests etc... CZ pistols are capable of accurate shooting past 100 yards. Whether or not the shooter is capable is another matter.
Right now I need more practice up close and personal too. I have not fired my gun since December -- 3 months ago. I have been buried with work guarding people and places mornings, afternoons, and nights. All this assumes that I can still take a good hostage shot from 21 feet and not miss.
In the professional shooting world, you must requalify with your gun of choice at various intervals. For military it is annually. For state-licensed armed guards it is semiannually. For law enforcement it is quarterly. Without a calendar you would not know when.
Wonder to what extent American genocide was reliant on Britain's genocide... There's a research article for you!
Well the first issue you need to deal with is the parallax between the front sight blade and the bore. German STG's and Russian AK's and American AR's have notorious problems about this. Pre-STG designs like the M-1 Carbine as with the modern Ruger Mini's eliminate this parallax problem. You can with a Ruger Mini therefore sight parallel where the impact point of your shot is the parallel difference between your front sight blade and your bore. This eliminates the parallax problem at close range. The parallax problem becomes an issue in the case of a hostage rescue shot.
` Well some flag flies over you. Depending on where your arsie was born and when it has since immigrated to, somebody has the power and right to tax you.
I was born at the tale end of empire. I also have never supported imperalists like Churchill. Good to see admission of your country's history of genocide mind you. I'm proud of you
Churchill was a good man. (In Greek the highest honor you can pay someone is to say this about them.) He saw the gathering storm and he tried to warn the his government. As a Navy minister he at least was able to prepare the British fleet to guard Fortress Britainnia against the coming onslaught of the Nazi horde. He also alerted FDR to the threat, such that FDR deferred any major action against Imperial Japan before Imperial Nazi German was destroyed.
Field guns on the streets to control British workers; WMD to control what he saw as savages. Yep, a proper cheery uncle!
Tale! We had to live through the "we did good" cobblers. Makes even the apologists for Churchill's imperialism look quaint.
Generally I am not wild about personal ownership of crew served weapons. Not sure you can make a 2nd Amendment argument for it either.
Lily livered ? With the current ideas in the United Kingdom concerning pointy kitchen knives, and how a well know woman was warned by Police for shaking a kitchen knife while she was inside her home, in her kitchen, through a closed window, at some people outside her home trespassing on her property.
