Good guy with a gun stopped the shooter in MD school

Criminals always get guns, they DONT follow the law. How many times do you have to be told this??????

 

Has there been any mention of the type of gun this kid had? Wonder why???

Do you know how he obtained the glock handgun?

 

The guy who shot him was in the school, no?

Imagine all of your rights were stripped from you as well so you could not so much as use the internet. I am not responsible for acts of the shooters. My aim is to stop you from trying to remove my rights due to what they do.

 

I want a democrat to explain why they refuse to protect those children. I am sick of them making up excuses for not protecting children.

The shooter was taken down by a well-trained law-enforcement officer, almost all of whom are already armed. That does not mean that we should arm a bunch of untrained or semi-trained folks and send them into schools with their guns. You can't expect someone with a short course in firearms to be able to react in a shooting situation the way a trained law-enforcement officer can.

 

In other western countries, criminals do NOT always find a way to get a gun. That's why we see mainly knife attacks with far fewer victims in Europe. Even folding knives with long blades are difficult to obtain in Europe. Why would it be different here if we had far fewer firearms circulating among the civilian population?

In nearly all cases where the shooter in the school is himself a juvenile, having an armed cop or any adult for that matter with excellent shooting skills will top the shooter. The aim is to prevent children from dying, not to make a political point.

 

Very few lunch ladies will have "excellent shooting skills" and virtually none of them will have the kind of training this guy had.

 

Yes it's much better to make sure no one can defend themselves. Much better.

 

I once led committees. Frankly one great thing is the committee normally came up with excellent ideas. I never suggested lunch ladies carry firearms.

 

How about we make them criminals as soon as they look for certain guns, rather then letting them be legal and their first offense being a mass shooting.

At least if they have to go into the black market that is its own safety net from a random mass murder.

Good guy with a gun did not stop the shooting.
Good guy with a gun may have stopped further shooting, but we're not sure the two people who were shot weren't the only intended victims.

Again, best scenario would have been to try and prevent armed individuals from getting on school grounds in the first place.

 

The good guy had a unwieldy rifle?, or a firearm that no one of importance wants to see regulated in the first place?

 

Who is proposing no resource officers in school?

Last I checked the republican budget prevents that where it is needed.

They would rather let teachers take on the added responsibility, risk and liability for free.

Which is why I say post schools this way.

 

This is the amazing part.

Republicans have spent the last decade demonizing teachers, cutting education budgets to the point where school teachers are buying
school supplies for their kids - and now they want school teachers to become their own security on their own dime. WTF.
That's not fair to teachers.

And you know what's going to happen. Republicans will cut any budget for extra school security because, "we've voted to let teachers be armed" so they can claim they've done their part.
