Absolutely. That fresh from the event, I trust in no source.

IMO, this strike came with a lot of warnings, public and private, to prevent escalation. That ought to improve intercepting chances, I guess.

We have been threatend by russia since 1946

Putin in practicing geo politics for the advantage of the russians

Hopefully he is not willing to wage nuclear war over syria, iran or north korea

But he does want the former glory and respect given to the old soviet union

It IS rather telling however when Syrian/Russian TV show the results of their intercept as an un-chared pile of debris in an un-cratered field in noontime daylight before the sun even comes up in that part of the world.

tomahawk is a missile developed in the 70s. That is 50 years ago.
I do not trust the Russian report but that kind of missile should be rather easy to take out with 21th century technology.

So what is left of the strike... No military, governmental or public targets were touched, only "facilities" that Assad denies the existance?

That won't make it easier for an eventual inquiry team. The elephant birthed a mouse here. A symbolic strike, a show of unity by the occidental forces etc.

So 75% of the US Missiles defeated the 30 year old Syrian defense system.

Even if nothing but propaganda created by the defeated, that's a strong result.

    I can see both arguments

America is tired of wars in the middle east

It ssem the arab muslims are incapable of civilized behavior

But now that russia and iran are on the rise its a new ballgame in syria

Maybe we are closer to Armageddon than we know

    Trump is no globalist

Are one of the anti trumpsters who are committed to free trade?

Trump inherated the syrian mess from obama and hillary

Just as obama inherated afghanistan from bush

There are no easy answers to this problem

Sure there are, just leave Syria to burn to the ground in its civil war. Is that heartless? Yes, but with recent history I now believe not interfering in Darfur was the right decision. There's nothing to be gained with interfering in civil conflicts.

Sure a weapon that fly a hundred feet or so off the ground at 600 mph should be a simple target to hit.

Probably not that big a deal. Some of the missiles are designed with loiter/recon capability and can function as drones. I suspect they were getting a lot of ELINT in the process. The allies wanted them shot at and for a purpose.

Regardless of how many missiles were shot down, we can see that there is no any sufficient result of that attack.
