No, but it has to start somewhere and sometimes a single example counts for a lot. A few years ago I was in crowded restaurant seated at the bar waiting for a table. A Black guy was there with his date and were standing up. I gave up my seat for her. He was surprised at the gesture and also thankful. Points made. You get the idea.

If I told you it was a fact that 90% of securities fraud is committed by white males, would you never invest any money in a company owned by white males? It wouldn't bother you - because you are not racially motivated against white males.

Please, you're comparing apples to oranges. Financial services are dominated by white men in the first place. It's not an analogy. Besides securities fraud won't leave you dead, assaulted or raped.

 

I know a black doctor who own three medical clinics, has a house worth $10 million and donates a 2 weeks a year to Doctors without Borders. But he is unable to make a dent in your perception of black American men.

 

It's a single incident. It doesn't mean anything unless you're trying to use it to confirm some of your pre-existing biases e.g. white people are out to get us, everyone is racist, are some common ones. Some people are racist, it happens. There's plenty of black people who are resentful towards whites as well. The US is a country with a huge population of 320M people, you can find plenty case examples of just about everything.

Not really. Ever see Black kids at malls. Their general behavior is atrocious and is associated with the many episodes that occur in them.

I have no problem seeing Carson as a rich, successful doctor. I have some problems seeing him as head of HUD - and it appears he is having trouble seeing himself as head of HUD.
