    That only happened about 50 years ago. For the majority of the country’s history that was not the case at all. The US was actually more white in 1960 than it was in 1860.

    Further back. If the elite factions wanted to keep the country "white," they would've limited slavery to Eastern Europeans and would've limited the railroad builders to European Americans. They chose money over color a very long time ago, hence why this country can't be seen as a supposed white one.

    However, their actions did not stop them from making an enormous amount of room for non-whites to come into this country. IOW, their rhetoric wasn't backed by actions :shrug:.
