can any righties explain why a lawyer saves 16 BURNER phones, and pleads the fifth?

Im sure it is all innocent and all, but I am just curious is all. And, since Cohen had three clients, Trump, Trump inc, and Hannity, how can Trump claim he never met the man?

    Some things dont add up.

A man has the right to have as many burner phones as he wants. The technosurveillance complex was a mistake and the only way to fix it is to normalize being paranoid and constantly polluting your data.

Cept they had good cause to search, and had a solid warrant. When they do it illegally, I will worry.

As any REAL lawyer would suggest.

i mean, he's donald trump's lawyer, i expect him to know fully well how it feels to snort coke off the corpse of a child or whatever other depraved **** the elites get up to, but my point was that there's nothing wrong with looking suspicious

The "I don't know who he is, I never met the guy, and if I did I won't remember him" is a pretty standard response for Trump when one of his pals is under indictment. Paul Manafort was probably the latest and greatest whopper. Then again, maybe "Stormy" is the latest case of selective amnesia. It's darn hard to keep track. Funny though.

I beg to differ. Many years ago, we got out of church, and there were three guys in the back of a pickup. We said, look suspicious, there is a cop. He pulled us right over, and scolded us for LOOKING suspicious.

Sort like why anyone would need a private email server in their basement?

So far as I know, being in the possession of a 'burner' phone is not illegal. Is there some sort of accusation being made while no apparent crime is committed? Sounds like the witch hunt mentality has finally spread to anything and everything without regard to legality...

It's the seriousness of the charge, not the validity

Being in possession of 10,000 rounds of ammo, four hundred pounds of fertilizer, and sixteen assault rifles isn't illegal but it sure looks funny. Now that guy may be clean as new snow, but it still looks funny, funny enough to do a little checking around.

His best defense at this point would be to admit he's a FEMALE witch and attack these liberals for gender discrimination, that would shut them up.

This whole witch hunt is stupid and won't ever go anywhere, particularly if the arrows don't point directly to Trump. At the end, whatever they manufacture and present to the public will require a flow chart the size of Rhode Island and nobody will be able to understand it...

Actually yes. They copied them, and had solid warrant to do so. And, they KNOW many things Cohen did, and are gathering PROOF, for prosecution.

So you are saying having 'burner' phones is illegal? Please provide some evidence of that, and if that is true, why is that not used daily in the war against drug dealers and such...

Let's not get ahead of things.

He plead the 5th for the same reason that Lois Lerner did. To prevent statements from being misused against him

And there's no indication that he had ANY burner phones. He saved his smart phones when he got a new one (much like Clinton did). Some may have been "burners" but there is no evidence of that as of now

Oh no, I was asking what NOT illegal purpose for keeping burners might be. Such as extorting your clients you KNOW are guilty as hell for a job at the white house, such as.

For a lawyer? After the all the domestic spying of the Obama administration it might have been a counter measure to ensure private conversations and maintain attorney-client privilege...

OR prove Trump knows you after he disavows ever having met you. OR, maybe to get paid as you know he stiffs all his vendors.

If collusion and conspiracy didn't require a conspiracy, you would have a point. And if it was easy, everyone would be rich. And President.

Lawyers deal with criminals who don't like their conversations being recorded, which makes burner phones a necesity of the trade.

One pleads the fifth when they don't want to incriminate themselves in a crime that may or may not be related to the case at hand. I suspect that when a lawyer pleads the fifth, it may also be to protect attourney-client privledge, though there are likely more legitimate ways to invoke that.
