    Ah another Collie voter.
    Shall I mark you down for F, D, Border Collies, B, Q ?
Or did you want to rank them in a different way?

Well I hear that behind your back the cats are secretly drafting out their plans for world domination and the dogs meanwhile are sneaking around to use your toothbrush at night...

Hah! Very unlikely. The cats are incapable of planning beyond their next nap.

Now, those Yorkies, that's a different story. They're sneaky, conniving little critters. They cannot be trusted!!! ... under any circumstances!!!!! :brushteeth:

Ah, so that's what they look like when you put the interface fur on them?
Still kind of creepy...just knowing that deep inside there lies the cold, unfeeling heart of a killer-robo-cat.

I don't think I got a ranked vote from you guys yet. @vman12, don't think I got one from you either.
Last chance to post one before the polls close. Note, if you only submitted a vote in the approval portion,
it wont count towards three out of the four tallies at the end of voting (IRO, RP, Plurality). Just fyi...

Per the OP, there are two parts to this vote. :)
The approval portion (which you already voted in), and the ranked portion, in which you should post an ordered listing of the option letters by preference in order to participate in......Or, if you'd like, I can just mark you down for A, B

At the end, there will be 4 separate tallies based on different methods for determining the winner.
Approval portion will only count towards one of those tallies.

Chose dog. obviously. I mean, who doesn't love dogs?....I love them all, but toy breeds are my favorite, so also chose Pomeranian. got feelers out and hope to get a little guy this summer or fall.

Chose cat, too. have a 'tuxedo' Manx mix named Nubby (born with no tail). Cats are bizarre creatures...the 'wise ass' of the domestic animal kingdom, so we get along well.

Chose bird, as well. The most interesting pet I've ever lived with was an African Grey named Olympia. loved her more than the girlfriend who owned her. Birds are incredibly loving, interesting and fun if they accept you, and even if they don't, they are still extremely high maintenance, messy (seeds EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME), can be very noisy, and many breeds will outlive their owners....Olympia is around 30 now, and her owner is on the back side of 50...as they can live 100 years, she'll very likely have to make arrangements for her in her will. I've tossed around the idea of buying one many times, but then remember how much I like my freedom.

Lets go with Orange Tabby. I've had an orange tabby for 35 of my 36 years on this planet. although obviously not the same one.

That's OK if so, just want to make sure. :)

I'll mark you down for Orange Tabby and then B then.

Ha! On time this time 'round.
Alright folks, I'm happy to say that this vote rivaled even the vegetable vote as far as popularity and participation went.
What am I saying? Of course it did, pets are awesome! And on that note, thanks up front to everyone who participated.
And a very special thanks to everyone who actually followed the instructions. ;)
So with that, it's time to announce the winner...

    And the Winner is...

    Option A: Dogs!

Not too much of a surprise there really. Though cats certainly put up a good fight. They came out strong in the beginning, and seemed to pull ahead towards the middle, but dog folk rallied and clenched the win across the board in the end.

Don't feel too down though cats and cat folk. The purpose of this vote was to find out which pets were worthy to be invited to
    the Grand Pet Jamboree,
and any pet mustering at least 50% in the approval vote gets an automatic invite, so congratulations, you may have lost out to dogs popularity-wise, but you still made the cut!...In exchange though...just promise me you guys wont try to murder me when you finally implement those world domination plans. :p

Malshi...don't you feel bad either. 4th, 6th, and 7th aren't that bad in a vote like this. Heck, you either tied or beat out Beagles! That's got to be worth something! And besides, keep in mind that as part of the dog group, you technically still came in first anyways, lol. So see you at the party.

RIP poor widdle weedle. Unfortunately...you came in dead last in ever single tally.
I barely even knew thee. :skull:

Speaking of the tallies, as previously mentioned, results were not supper surprising.
Short story is, dogs (in general) come in first, and cats (in general) place in a very solid second.
This time around the Plurality and Instant Runoff results mirror one another.
The Ranked Pairs result is also similar to those two, although with a lot more segmentation.
The main difference being that in Ranked Pairs Fish comes in third place rather than tying for last.

So now, I have a question for you guys if anyone would like to take a crack at answering it.
(Assuming of course anyone actually reads this far down)...The question is, supposing that we decided we wanted to invite one and only one additional type of pet to the Grand Pet Jamboree to join alongside the cats and dogs...between fish, birds, and wombats, which one do you think deserves to be invited more given the tally results speaking purely from a fairness perspective, and why?

Results (Ranked Pairs - Plurality - Instant Runoff - Approval):
Note: Added the names in next to the letters this time...well...at least the first few characters :p
Since comparing the top contenders of this vote is fairly straightforward, and kinda boring, this time around I instead highlighted runner-ups, C. Fish, P. Bird, and K. Wombat.

Given that the Grand Pet Jamboree will consist primarily of dogs and cats from a fairness perspective fish and birds will fall into the category of snacks so that just leaves wombats.

    SCNR ;)

And why shouldn't the top pets get some snacks?
If the votes say that snacks should be provided, who are you to overturn that? ;)

Soz, but....you're just a little late.

Oh, but I guess I should mention,...among the dogs,
it appears that Retrievers (Labradors and Golden) are the top dog breed.
Followed by MalShis and Beagles after that  (at least according to Politcalforum)
