The tension around Iran is rising again. They exchange missiles with Israel. Possible World War III. So, should Iran be allowed to have nukes or not? And why not?
I don't get it, Israel and Iran are 2-3 countries away. That is to say, their are not neighbors. Why would any of those care about the other? And why those two should threaten each other?
For Israel to exist in its current apartheid state it must maintain the illusion of a external threat.
Israel is surrounded by Muslim countries, there is no need to pretend anything as the threat is obvious. And who made the Iranians threaten that they will "wipe Israel off the map"? Did Israel put the words in their mouths?
The Jews decided to create their Jewish State in the middle of Muslim countries, then they claim that they are under threat! They occupy territory for 70 years and against international law build settlements there. Then claim the people who they have occupied are violent for resisting the occupation! They build an illicit nuclear arsenal then bomb any other country that wishes to do the same!
The only way to stop them is to invade. Any country can developed them at this point. The technology is old and easily acquired. I guess it comes down to "are we willing to invade Iran to stop them?"
In theory, it would be a great idea if NO country on Earth had nuclear weapons. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. That said, should any country ruled by an Islamic priesthood have nuclear weapons? Islam, as practiced TODAY, is a violent, intolerant religion that preaches all "infidels" (non-believers) must be converted, killed, or at least totally subjected to the iron-fisted, despotic rule of an Islamic theocratic government. Iran has been victimized by Sunni jihad. Re media, on this site several people have quoted newspapers or other news sources under control of the Israeli government.
Hear Hear, it is about balance, and it is obvious that there are those who do not agree with balance, meanwhile they sell the illusion that the are all for balance. The politics of the ME is simple. Everything is tribal. Shias hate Sunnis, Sunnis hate Shias, both hate everyone else and feel it is their duty to convert or kill them. The region was effectively ruled and pillaged by the British in the early 1900's, creating a mistrust and hate for all Westerners. The area suffers from extreme over population and poverty. The leaders divert the discontent by stirring up hate against Israel and the West. Hate and violence is their way of life. In the West, our children sing songs about love and peace with Sesame Street characters. In the ME, they teach their children songs glorifying killing Jews and Americans.
