Well now.....that didn't take long. All it took was Trump putting Sanctions on Iran. There goes that leftist theory about the Euros just ignoring US Sanctions. Plus Trump can keep them in limbo on any waiver.

French-energy company Total SA is halting development of a large Iranian gas field unless it receives a waiver from the U.S., which is reimposing stiff sanctions targeting the Islamic republic.

President Trump withdrew from a nuclear accord with the country reached by his predecessor earlier this month, promising to reinstate punitive financial measures after a 180-day wind-down period. The announcement put international companies that previously agreed to projects in Iran in a difficult spot, because proceeding might subject them to hefty U.S. fines through so-called secondary sanctions.

Total cited that concern in announcing it was halting work with the Iranian national oil company subsidiary PetroPars to develop the South Pars natural gas field.

The firm, which is seeking a waiver from the U.S., will have to unwind all project operations before Nov. 4 if it doesn't receive one. At risk, Total said, is financing from U.S. banks, the loss of U.S. shareholders and the inability to continue U.S. operations. The company said it has spent less than 40 million euros, or $47 million, on the project so far.

A top Chinese energy company also involved in Total's agreement said it would take the French company's place if necessary......snip~

    And there goes your bullshit

    http://www.handelsblatt.com/politik...ie-sich-an-us-sanktionen-halten/22571602.html

The EU issues a blocking statut, which will punish evry european company that follows US sanctions. In other words, Total will be forced to do the business or get sanctioned by the EU.

Last time we did the blocking statute we forced the americans to our will.

We dont need to make it up with Iran. Americans are greedy bastards, thats why we win. We rise the financial pressure high enough until some of your companies give trump the kennedy exit.

Trump so far based evrything on bluffs. When we countered, he backed off.

Do you know a guy called pompeo? He already makes tv interviews here and says us sanctions will propably only affect us companies. They already row back.

80% of germans want keep the iran deal.

The EU will not stand by Iran and the JCPOA. Here’s why.

Despite their anger European leaders will not risk rupture of their links with the US because of Iran

    by Alexander MercourisALEXANDER MERCOURIS

Ever since Donald Trump’s announcement that the US would pull out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (“JCPOA”) with Iran and would unilaterally impose across-the-board sanctions on that country, a procession of European leaders including the leaders of the US’s most powerful European allies – Britain, France and Germany – have publicly declared their intention to stand by the JCPOA.

There is also brave talk of the EU creating safeguards for European companies which in defiance of the US continue to trade or do business with Iran.

Whilst there is no doubt European leaders are deeply shocked by Donald Trump’s announcement of a pullout from an international agreement in negotiating which the EU played a large part, I strongly doubt that they will find the courage or the willpower to defy the US by in effect encouraging their companies to continue to do business with Iran.

It should be said that even with such active encouragement it is unlikely in my opinion that big European companies like Daimler or Airbus will risk US fines by continuing to do business with Iran. Even if European governments were to guarantee them against any losses caused by such fines, they would worry about losing access to the US market, which utterly dwarfs Iran’s.

We dont allow you to dictate us what to do and expect us to bend our knees. This here is more important than Iran. Its us defending our independence. UK, France, Germany and entire EU united.

Last time you were dealing with establishment.

Next up the French and Italian Steel companies.

Oh and now Airbus is already rethinking about sending any of those planes and training Iranians.

What about blocking statute did you not get? Its totally irrelevant what Airbus thinks. When the blocking statute is issed, Airbus is forced to follow the deal. Its that easy. EU foreign representative Mogherini said if they dont follow the deal, they get heavy penalties up to 20 billion€.

Thats the core of the blocking statue. Thats how it works.

Trump is a lame duck and always retreats when you threaten him. Your article is from 11th may. Today the EU announced the introduction of the blocking statute.

Which pretty much ****s you up.

We want the break. We want this economic war. And not just in the Iran issue. The EU also cancelled talks about a agreement about tariffs and announced counter tariffs against USA.

Polls say 80% of Germans want this. Trump has no Plan B. His method are cheap bluffs. In last year again and again he pulled back, when we stood our ground. Same will be now.

The west as system is dead. The old order was that USA and EU stood side by side. Trump broke that so we must now show our independence so others see that we stand for our words.

Trump should be careful what he tells.

We dictate you nothing, you can do what you want inside your borders as long it does not affect us.

Yeah like TPP, the Paris Accord and all that bluffing. The only ones that broke that was the Euros. We don't have a problem allowing your EU to fall apart.

Now Italy is talking about bailing on the EU. Soon no one will want to give you their money.

He did only bluff towards us. So far he never dared to take action against Europe. Just words and that is a crucial time. We dont accept his methods any longer. He either changes or we force him to change. We are not american vassals.

We dont have a problem to allow your world empire to fall apart either.

You are free to leave NATO. NATO was created from USA to opress. Its long overdue to be disbanded anyways.

By threatening european companies He does try to dictate on us. And thats bound to fail.

It appears Trump is a russian sockpuppet. He destroys the alliance between our nations and Russia already jumps in to gain from that.

It seems to me EU is the one making a very big deal out of this, making it look like someone stepped on its balls.
EU will raffle those feathers for a few weeks and will eventually go along.

While French and the US elites fight each other over oil market share, China sniggers and walks laughing to the bank.
