Trump reportedly said he wants to stop German luxury car imports in the US

This would constitute a ban on imports of German manufactured Mercedes Benz cars. However, Mercedes also manufacture and assemble in other countries.

Donald Trump is attacking US allies and the consequences of that will be the loss of alliances and less cooperation by foreign countries with the USA.

The USA's relationship with the world is the worst its been since World War 2 and is getting worse as Trump carries out his mad schemes.

This creates openings for Russia and China to create alliances with those countries Trump is unfriending. The US will be left with one ally, Israel, which is more of a liability than an ally.

Based on past experience, Trump will announce several flip-flops before the bans are imposed.

Well given we have a mercedes factory between tuscaloosa and birmingham alabama, who employ americans, I have no problem with germany just making their cars here, to sell here, using americans. We don't need to import when they can just make them here. As they are already doing at least for some models.

We send car making jobs to mexico, and mexicans are too poor to buy them, for we don't pay them enough to buy what they make, and then they are exported back to america. Germany and Japan build factories here, using american workers, for cars sold in the US. For we can still buy them, some of us.

Then of course what the MNCs make in china with that really cheap labor, is not sold in china, but sent back here. I guess we don't pay the chinese workers enough to buy what they made in our MNCs, or china will not allow them to buy those goods, and so they are shipped to our market.

 

I'm guessing that it is a bunch of Trump friends.

And frankly, I don't know how many times you have had to eat your words regarding unnamed sources. Hell, Trump explicitly and repeatedly denounces the reporting based on unnamed sources and then those reports turn out to be absolutely true. Did you admit that you were wrong to question the unnamed sources reporting that McMaster or Tillerson were about to be fired?

Do you think Trump just did not make that statement or that we should not read anything from Trump's statement? Even when paired with the public admission that his commerce department is looking to add 25% tariffs to imported vehicles.
