Well this is sure to drive the media and his opponents crazy. Trump is actually nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. In his case he earned it. I don't want to read he did not earn it. I want to read all of us congratulating him for the nomination. Be nice to Trump today. He may have saved some of our grandchildren from war.

“What’s going on now is historic,” Per-Willy told NRK, according to Bloomberg. “A process is underway to ensure world peace in the future. It’s a fragile process, but we must of course do what we can to help this process bring good results.”

It won't make it through committee.

Nice to get the nomination though.

    This got me wondering.

    http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2018/06/01/kremlin-putin-wants-meeting-kim-jong-un/

    1 Jun 2018

The Kremlin hinted at the potential for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, telling reporters Friday that such a summit “may indeed take place.”

The Kremlin confirmed discussions with the North Koreans were ongoing shortly after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Kim personally on a visit to Pyongyang. North Korean state media reported that Kim and his officials met Lavrov “warmly” and congratulated Russia for generally opposing the interests of the United States on the global stage.
    ...

    Trump's new best buddy

Breaking open the "hermit nation" of N. Korea by several,
    seemingly opposing nations
    is a good thing.
    China, Russia and :flagus:
    Where's France?
Where's :flagcanada:? North of the 49th

Reminds me of when Sadat few to Tel Aviv and addressed the Israeli parliament.
    Nothing new, except Sadat's appearance.
And it was on live TV from when Sadat's airplane left Cairo until Golda Meir reminded them it was late, they were all tired, go home and get some sleep.
    Anyone remember that?

France and Canada are as irrelevant as ever. Where's Germany? Same thing. Not a major player in this scenario. Not sure why they should be.

I'm sure the North Koreans would tell them to amscray, especially since they don't do what Russia does to stay relevant, namely oppose US interests globally.

If Henry Kissinger and Barack Obama could receive it, so can DJT.

I think it's way too early to tell in Korea, but if this plays out right and peace is achieved there, DJT might deserve it more than the other two war criminals.

Obama did absolutely nothing to deserve it.

You could at least make the case for Kissinger, however weak it may be.

I agree, but in the end, though not POTUS, HK was every bit the war criminal Nixon or Obama were.

Why would anyone want a prize given to Yasir Arafat and Barak Hussein Obama? Morally its no better than the Stalin Prize.

Obama received it and didn’t even do anything to earn it. Trump definitely earned it.

Yes, the Iran deal isn't even comparable to the deal Trump made. :alcoholic:

Your right it’s not. All Obama did was send them money while he hid in the White House & never left the country.

The Nobel story was blacked out on ABC evening news, I guess to get the St. Paul racoon story in, but our local station carried the story.

I was curious what the MSM brigade of shallow, hair sprayed mannequins would do with story.

As I see it the anti trump brigade is not true to themselves. No matter what Trump does they will find, actively seek and vocalise criticism. They take a positive initial outcome like the Kim summit and try to contaminate it with all the flower power they can muster. Quite amusing to read.

Congrats to Trump, regardless if the hard road ahead doesnt smooth out with NK.

Yeah, not comparable at all. Trump actually had to do something before getting nominated. Obama's deal wasn't even conceived until years after he won the peace prize (hint: so the Iran deal doesn't have squat to do with the topic at hand).

Lets wait til the 'peace' is a bit more solidified. This whole 'pre-emptive Nobeling' thing left much to be desired when they did it for Obama.

"He may have saved some of our grandchildren from war"

You don't get a nobel prize for potentially creating peace.

Well, got to wait anyway as the door has closed for 2018 nominees. No possibility until the 2019 prizes are issued.
