I'm a liberal Atheist and anti-Fascist but not a real Socialist.
I like the USA, but don't like Donald Trump and the KKK.
I'm not a native English speaker, so please excuse my mistakes.

 

How well do you follow orders?

 

What orders do you mean? I'm the most unsuitable person for military service. I don't respect most supervisors.

 

How "German" are you?

I thought you guys were good at "following orders".

Welcome to the forum! I don't fully understand how the term "liberal" is understood in Germany. Does it typically conjure allegiance with the FDP? That's been my operating assumption. The only Germans I know here are AFDers and those floating on the spectrum between the SPD and CDU.

 

"Liberal" has of course a wide meaning. It covers almost everything from anarchism to economic liberalism. In my opinion, Liberalism is the base of democracy and also the opposite of Totalitarism. Therefore, SPD and CDU both are liberal to a given extent. SPD is more socialist than liberal and CDU is more conservative than liberal.

AFD is an extreme right-wing, fascist, racist and xenophobic party. It is something like a modern-day NSDAP (Hitler party). Many Germans fear that the AfD has the potential power to bring back the madness of the "Third Reich".

I myself have, indeed, elected the FDP.

I'm of Polish descent. All people here have migration background. Ethnic Germans are a myth. Maybe you also believe in a myth that Germans are something like natural born killing machines designed by Adolph Hitler. This is, what your government told you during WW2, right?

This forum already has plenty of Germans on the forum specifically here to bash the USA while goose-stepping for Germany and Merkel.

My German is not that good.

My Euro centric father who spoke 5 languages and was a language purist
use to complain of American workmanship compared to German
and would speak of a word in German that had no direct English translation
and special to the German nation.
It was like uber thoroughness doing a job. Sounded something like
"tertigkeit".

Someone's little ego is pi**** o** it seems. Has nothing to do with 'outlawing free speech'. It obviously is too complicated for you that some non English native speakers come to English speaking forums to use and practise their English, you know, it's this thing called foreign language. A German speaking forum would use - oh surprise - German and not English.
One German user bashes the US in his postings, that's Sobo, while you spread lie after lie on everything German (isn't that bashing as well?) and when confronted with facts and, even worse, details you chicken out and have no reliable sources to back up any of your false claims. Proud of that? I'm still waiting for a source to back up your claim that pepper spray is illegal in Germany and cannot be used on a human or that the German government doesn't allow people to attend university or that there is no free choice of career in Germany or that nobody can get rich. I'm waiting.
And who exactly is goose stepping here?

 

Willkommen to the forums, I'm pro Trump and think Merkel is the worst thing to happen to the EU in years and will destroy it if she stays in power much longer. I'm sure we're going to have a lot fun.

Like the rest of the world, you will find all types of people here.
Please don't let snarky people annoy you with their anti German comments based on old, bigoted, US WW2 propaganda. You have many reasons to be proud of your country and its industrious, creative & friendly people.

I lived, studied & worked in Germany in the mid 1970s & used to be fluent in the German language but have forgotten quite a bit.
However, if I can help you in learning English, feel free to PM me.
I suppose my views are liberal on some issues and conservative on other issues.
At any rate, I feel that is possible to hold different opinions yet still be civil, polite & respectful.

Welcome pit bull! I'm a Bible believing Christian, free market, anti fascist, anti KKK..or any race based oriented organization. I voted for Donald Trump and will again as he's been a fabulous president. Never been to Germany but would love to visit.
