None of which changes the fact that such an outlook is not universal.

On Monday evening, police said a gunman shot James on a basketball court at the Frederick Douglass Community Center. His mother, Benita Smith, said whoever attacked her son took the sneakers. He was found a block away, on a street, shoeless. He died less than two hours later at a hospital.

"He was an all-American kid," said his mother, who works at a day-care center. "He loved his red shoes. He loved basketball. He loved his computer games. . . . I can't believe he was killed, all over a pair of shoes."

HPD says McKnight was returning from the grocery store when Flagg approached her, and asked to use her cell phone.

McKnight refused, a struggle broke out, and Flagg shot her multiple times, including one time in the back.

McKnight was pronounced dead at the scene.

MILWAUKEE — A 21-year-old Milwaukee man beat a 15-year-old boy with a hammer, stabbed him in the neck and burned his body over a stolen video game system, prosecutors said in charging documents Tuesday.

HOUSTON — One man is dead and another is accused of fatally stabbing him — all over a piece of chicken.

Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera, 38, of Houston was charged late last week with murder in connection with the Friday death of Darwin Perez Gonzalez, 34, of Houston.

Five men had been making dinner and drinking in an apartment in western Houston. But police said Rivera became angry when Gonzalez took the last piece of chicken.

An argument escalated into a fist fight that was taken out into the parking lot of the complex. Rivera then stabbed Gonzalez and fled the scene with the knife, police said

One man is dead after an argument over a parking spot Thursday night in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.

The man was shot about 9:50 p.m. in a residential area near Lake Mead and Jones boulevards, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said.

Kisfalvi said one man used a shotgun to shoot the second man on the 6200 block of Ilanos Lane.

The critically injured man was hospitalized at University Medical Center, where he later died.

Police have the shooter in custody, Kisfalvi said.

Its not difficult. You're either a decent person and admit that human life is worth substantially more, or you're warped.

Car Jacking is what is called a Forcible felony at least in my state so you can indeed use deadly force on someone committing such a felony.

Actually, there ARE situations where killing another person is not only morally and ethically right, but critically necessary.

Killing is not necessarily a bad thing.

Before anyone asks, I wouldn't shoot someone over a TV.

But, if someone was stealing my car and drove it at me I would not hesitate to shoot them in the face, multiple times. A car has far more ballistic energy than any hand-held firearm, and if a car is being aimed at me, that is a deadly force situation.

The VPC is devoid of credibility because it regularly bald-faced lies, and publishes cooked-statistic "studies" that are laughable on their face. Its founder, Josh Sugarmann, has stated unequivocally his willingness to twist facts if necessary to push his agenda.

As I already stated a forcible felony such as rape, kidnapping, planting a bomb, setting a fire to a building or car jacking are all crimes where you can used deadly force to stop or even block escape for that matter. in most states.

Why do soldiers only go off to fight a war?
I can't believe you even ask such a question.

depends. but I advocate the following: if someone undertakes a felonious attack upon another or his property, the victim shall not be answerable in either criminal or civil court for using deadly force against the felon as long as the use of force takes place during the felonious incident (in other words, you cannot shoot a burglar a week after the burglary )

Perfectly legal in TX. Strongly encouraged if the car is already legally occupied.

If you enjoy getting robbed at gun point or raped and are ok with that, enjoy being a victim, I prefer to kill my attacker.
And I sleep quite well at Night too, I never let it bother me at all.

Agreed, some bustard decides he needs my possessions more than I do, and tries to convince me of this by pointing a gun at me, it is no longer about the property he is trying to take, it is about the threat to my life and he is now TOAST !

Enter My Glock 17 and 18 rounds of premium ammo, Hornardy Critical Duty,
    9mm +P 135 gr. Flexlock © 1115 fps

I really love the specious example of a television set, since those objects range in size from mine, a tiny rechargeable 10 inch modern flat screen digital set weighing less than a pound, to larger heavy hard to carry sets, and your are not required to let people take your stuff, so it breaks down to how badly they want your possessions and what they are willing to do to you to effect the theft.

And that is the defining part of the equation and will decide whether the thief lives or dies.

right! Its not about the TV its about my personal defense. I have no way of knowing if the guy in my home taking my TV is just a thief or if he is a thief and a murderer. If hes broken into and entered my home, at that point hes agreed to be shot by my gun.

I would shoot but won't try to kill him. I would aim at his legs.

I live in Germany. Here is the rule that no one has to give way to injustice. However, you have to use the mildest means to prevent a crime. In some situations this could be a gun. If you convince the court that this was the only option, you will not be punished for that.

No, I actually wasn't. Someone stealing your iPad is not a self defense situation.
