    Every country has its specialities. The Swiss have watches, the Kenyans have long distance running. The US has freedom of speech.

    I'll give you a couple.

    For one, the individual rights we have enumerated in the Bill of Rights. We are much freer in this country to speak our minds than people are in the UK, for example.

    And if 9/11 had happened to the Europeans, all they could have done would be to stand there and bleed. Not the U.S.

    Don't forget we have a Freedom of Information Act? We can ask anything we like and the answers will be forthcoming . . . unless our lords and masters ( :rolleyes: ) decide unto themselves that it's the kind of stuff the peasants mustn't (or need not) know about, and they deal with that by redacting the answers to 'awkward questions'! Some 'Freedom of Information' that is eh?

    We are behind much of the first world in a lot of areas, such as education, roads and infrastructure, employee rights. We also have a large and growing contingent of people who hate science and would prefer everyone be forced to swear faith in God.

    If we are the greatest country in the world then the world must be nothing but a ball of ****.

    My biggest problem is that sitting there and believing America is number one is a demotivator. It keeps Americans from being hungry for something better.

    That's EASY! The USA economy in terms of GDP has been superior for DECADES!

    FYI, the GDP largely comes from consumption of wages and jobs.
