Mainstream conservatism doesn’t make sense

Have a problem with feminism? Mass immigration from the 3rd world? Open borders? Mainstream media bias? Hollywood movies? Radicalism on college campuses? The promotion of homosexuality and sexual perversions to children? Anti-Christianity? The welfare state? Globalist policies? Multiculturalism? Communism? The LGBT agenda? SJWs? Identity politics? Anti-Americanism?

How could you be upset about all of these things and ignore where they all came from? It doesn’t make sense.

 

They are victims of propaganda it is everywhere they look you almost can't blame them. if your IQ isnt at least 110 there is no way you're going to see through all the BS

I just think it’s crazy how I was very much like them, not that long ago. I think almost anyone has the potential to wake up from this programming, but it takes time and some hard reflection.

 

Yeah but around the time you and I woke up they were much more subtle about things. they are so open and in your face now that I really do think if you don't get it at this point you're probably not very bright.

 

What it actually is - is an opposition to nationalism and an embrace of globalism. That’s the real battle, there. Never Trumpers are not on board with an explicitly pro American agenda. Their loyalties lie elsewhere.

I'm upset with identity politics, social justice, political correctness, and tribalism because it turns us against each other by putting us in different classes of people and organizes us on a social ladder that dictates who is and isn't allowed to do and say what. This is the exact opposite of equality and surprised that so many people are OK with it.

When you tell one group of college students that they are inherently oppressive and bigoted and then tell another group of students that they are systematically persecuted and victimized by that group, do you honestly think any good will come of that?

 

We are both younger guys. The cement hasn’t hardened yet on our political views. I’ve changed a lot since joining here. You have too. I think with older people, what they believe now is likely the beliefs they will have for the rest of their lives.

yes. economically, Never-Trump Republicans have gone all-in on the idea that "the economy" is comprised only of shareholders....they are basically beholding only to publicly traded multinationals and banksters that need a constant influx of imported cheap labor and bad trade deals to apply downward pressure on ALL wages so they can maximize profits, and in turn maximize their attractiveness to the 'shareholder class'.

Culturally as well. This brand of “conservative” hasn’t conserved anything in over half a century. They cared only about enriching themselves and having a comfy retirement at the expense of their children and grandchildren. Someday they’ll be lying in a hospital bed being cared for by foreign speaking people who secretly want old white people to die off. Think they will get good care from these people?

 

You would think liberals would be happy; mainstream conservatism, at least defined by the establishment GOP since Reagan, is indeed dead, and I don't think it's coming back, in spite of the hope of some never-trumps like Bill Kristol or Jonah Goldberg. They seem to think they can hunker down, and eventually the Trump fever will pass and the Republican Party can once again return to de-industrialize the midwest, amnesty, and enough imported low skilled workers to get the wage rates in the US down to third world levels. Others, like Max Boot, have given up on the Republicans and have decided to advocate this:

Until you get to where I am you’re going to continue being mad at symptoms without understanding what is causing them.
