It seems these bastards can't help themselves from lying and misleading the public, and if/when they're not doing that they're lying and misleading members of Congress:

    https://theconservativetreehouse.co...nstein-lied-to-chairman-devin-nunes/#comments

    https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/13/house-republicans-rod-rosenstein-impeachment-719816

So you see, this isn't a GOP attack on law enforcement, this is a law enforcement attack on the American political system. And it's still ongoing.

As a result of Lisa Page exposing Rosenstein's treachery, he will now be impeached by Congress pending Paul Ryan learning of this treachery.

"Trump could declassify everything". Yeah, but I like this way better too. I want them to slowly ooze just how much they hate the country they're supposed to serve.

Rosenstein is as dirty as they come. Under Muellers tutelage, Rosenstein aided in the Uranium 1 cover up, and Rod and bogus Bob are at it again. Covering for Clinton / Obama by obstructing congressional oversight, withhholding evidence of criminal misconduct, and blocking witness testimony. The corrupt power they wield together is more that a little alarming. Rosenstein must be removed.

Clearly the so-called announcement was to try and sway Congress/Public, and I think Facebook utter farce was the same thing. He must think we're stupid, and maybe some people are but I'm not.

Learning Rosenstein lied is something that should never be closed door. And Democrats shouldn't tolerate it, I hope they don't tolerate this.

It's worked well for Mueller & Rosenstein before. 11 of 12 Russian spies, and of course Crooked Hillary got a free pass on Uranium 1. A sham indictment of 1 conspirator,an indictment of absolutely no significance, yielded a plea deal that ended the investigation. Mueller's had the IC reports / assessments on the DNC hacks for a year. He could have pulled this stunt a long time ago, but so long as he's "investigating" Rosenstein has an alibi for obstructing. The facebook troll indictment came just as congress began pressuring Rosenstein about witnesses and docs. You're right ... they don't fool anyone with their political melodramas.

They want to impeach him because Strzok wasn't allowed to talk about an ongoing investigation? What is the basis?

The basis is that "Crossfire Hurricane" isn't an ongoing investigation. Congress wants an accurate time-line, and the sources and methods used to gather evidence. It's pretty straightforward. Strzok's watched too many X-files re-runs if he thinks congress won't get to the truth.

Actually, it's cut and dried. The House reps gave Page a subponea to testify, Page stated she didn't have the time to prepare, so they gave her a mandate to come on the 13th(today). Likely, when she came they asked her why she wasn't prepared. And likely she/her lawyer said they were never given information/heads up from Rosenstein on a possible meeting.

Meaning Rosenstein lied, and Congress didn't know about it.

    From Rosenstein's attempt to deflect.

"In my remarks, I have not identified the victims. When we confront foreign interference in American elections, it’s important for us to avoid thinking politically as Republicans or Democrats and instead to think patriotically as Americans. Our response must not depend on which side was victimized. The internet allows foreign adversaries to attack America in new and unexpected ways. Free and fair elections are always hard fought and contentious.

There will always be adversaries who seek to exacerbate our divisions and try to confuse, divide, and conquer us. So long as we are united in our commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution, they will not succeed. A partisan warfare fueled by modern technology does not fairly reflect the grace, dignity, and unity of the American people. The blame for election interference belongs to the criminals who commit election interference. We need to work together to hold the perpetrators accountable, and we need to keep moving forward to preserve our values, protect against future interference, and defend America".

Firstly, if Rosenstein wasn't "thinking politically", why did he only investigate possible Russian interference in the Trump campaign but not in the Clinton campaign?

Secondly, is he really not understanding 'which side was victimized' by his own appointment of a Special Counsel, the "Insurance Policy" initiated by Strozk, McCabe, Page, et al in order that Trump be impeached?

Thirdly, Dr. Johnson had it right over 200 years ago that "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel", so when we see Rosenstein wrapping himself in the Stars and Stripes we know that the fat lady is clearing her throat.

I agree. And the right is trying very hard to make a big deal out of a confusing speculation about nothing. I read and read and reread the OP links to try to find what the big deal is. My conclusion is the right in trying to manufacture something.... an excuse maybe..... so they can have some meager cover for what they want to do without justification.

Yeah!!! And why not Benghazi, too? And don't forget the uranium deal! Yeah!!

Can you prove that it was in fact about Trump being impeached? Or is this just more spin?

Rosenstein has no where to hide on this one. Page was not a part of the Mueller team at that juncture.

Protect and defend the Constitution is second to protecting his own backside.

The amount of desperation that is being exhibited smells of a huge scandal that Mueller appears to be part of as well.

Mueller was the FBI director who ... ... "investigated" Uranium 1. Rosenstein  prosecuted only 1 of 12 Uranium 1 spies BTW. The rest along with Crooked Hillary got a free pass courtesy "team Mueller".

Makes me wonder how many of the 12 Russians indicted today were being investigated by the FBI during the squelching of all of the kickback and bribery investigations.

Witness suppression can be achieved in many ways.

I don't believe that there is a statute of limitations on NRC criminal activities.

    § 50.111 Criminal penalties.

    (a) Section 223 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, provides for criminal sanctions for willful violation of, attempted violation of, or conspiracy to violate, any regulation issued under sections 161b, 161i, or 161o of the Act.

"...except that whoever commits such an offense with intent to injure the United States or with intent to secure an advantage to any foreign nation, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $20,000 or by imprisonment for not more than twenty years, or both."

They are terrified of the guy they hired. This is really a hoot. Didn't the clueless GOP controlled Senate just confirm some Russian lackey with absolutely no prosecutorial experience to a high position in the DOJ? I wonder what that's all about. Do you have any insight into that Tom?

    The answer lies here...

How Russian Hackers Can Blackmail Donald Trump—and the GOP
If it is true that the Russians hacked the Republican National Committee as well as the DNC, then their power over POTUS potentially knows few bounds

That's cute, but opinions aren't facts. The fact is that Rosenstein stuffed the case into the DOJ-NSD(does that mean Mueller no longer has any authority) and seemingly wants to run away from this.

I'm not interested in letting these weasels run away. They created the conspiracy of a lifetime, they are now obligated to either prove it or tell the story.
