The Egyptian and Jordanian borders make up 90% of Israel's boundaries. they are formalized and legal.
Palestine has always had a small Jewish population, but the majority were Muslims and Christians.. Look at the Turkish census from 1850 or read Ibn Battuta or Rabbi Benjamin Tuleda earlier.. Palestine was a pretty hardscrabble life.. Arid and lacking in fertile soil. Jews move out ... that's why there were large Jewish communities in Damascus, Aleppo, Alexandria, Persia, Anatolia, Elephantine Island, the Barbary coast and all around the Med Sea... long before the birth of Christ.
they can obtain that through their parents. https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...isition-US-Citizenship-Child-Born-Abroad.html http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/islam-supports-israels-right-of-existence/ Because the west refused to apply the right of self determination. It would be like China agreeing that the US had to accept 100's of millions of Latin Americans, without any consultation and split the nation into 2... and find it odd that Americans got a problem with agreeing with that, to than massacre any American who violently objects to that in return.
Israel has no official border along the Green line. Its an Armistice Line, not a border. same with Syria and Lebanon.
Please let Ben Gurion rest in peace. He was no historian, no geneticist, and certainly not responsible for a great number of false quotes of dubious parentage generously attributed to him. I live in Israel, Margot. I've crossed the green line, yes. While its possible that some Palestinian families are indeed descended from Jewish converts native to this land, most are not. Palestinian families, clans and tribes' origins can be easily traced back to the Arabian Peninsula (Tamimi), Lebanon (Hariri), Egypt (Masri), Sudan (some members of the Jawarish community), Turkey (Otman), and the list is very, very long. There was no mass conversion of Palestinian Jews to Islam. Jewish communities lived and prospered in Palestine, in places seen today as pure Arab like Gaza and Hebron. Anyway, your "Palestinians are Jewish converts" hypothesis only reinforces the right of Jews to have their country in whole of Palestine, since it allegedly always belonged to the Jewish nation, religious differences notwithstanding... Yes Margot, but the map also says Iuda and Israel, not the Palestinian nation. Palestine has always been associated with Jews. What has the force conversion of Edomites to do with anything? Genetic studies proved Shlomo Sand wrong, if common sense wasn't enough. You basically believe that a new nation born in Palestine has slipped unobserved through millennia of great upheavals in this troubled region, hidden from both the various conquerors of the land and scientific researchers, to emerge in the 20th century as a new-old nation, while an ancient nation widespread throughout the world, frequently mentioned in countless documents throughout history, very well known from Turkey to China and from Russia to US, has in fact completely disappeared without a trace. What can I say...well, nothing, since I don't even exist... Turkish censuses are not reliable. Why do you think a pretty hardscrabble life would force Jews out , but allow Muslims and Christians to thrive to the point of forming a prosperous nation living off Palestinian barren land? Anyway, since you claimed earlier that Palestinian Muslims are in fact descendants of Jewish converts, there always was a Jewish majority in Palestine...ethnically speaking.
To be honest, I find it rather strange that someone mentions that he or she never heard of Libanese-Palestinian clans that took over many districts in German metropoles and what they do, how they act and how they see the "infidels" (Germans, any non-muslims immigrants, other muslims immigrants that do not share their view of Islam). Can only mean you are not interested in what happens in Germany after all, so its strange to doubt the information people can give you first hand.
What's there to argue about, you in fact condemn here is that Egypt mostly (no problem to find reports of torture, but that was not the rule, but the exeception) according to the Geneva convention? You know thats not a mercy, but the duty of every legit Army? Of course the IDF overwhelmingly acts accoring to these laws, every Palestinians worthless lynching murder like those of the incident I gave you gets a trial and misbehaviour within the IDF in punished. There is nothing to argue about it, you even encourage war crimes against Israelis. What's there left to say, yes, if you wannabe a war criminal you can lynch Israelis, you can torture POW, you can murder everyone standing in your way. But dont expect any sympathy by my side, if you decide to be a war criminal and will be shot down in the streets like a dog. Why should I care?
How about you look up right of self determination, and than wonder if the people in the Palestinian mandate were allowed to have those rights. Because as far as I recall, the west just created Israel as their colony for their own Jews. Some "partition plan" that was.
Shlomo Sands and others have always known the Palestinians are descended from Jews, Canaanites, Greeks, Romans, Syrians, Egyptians, Edomites, Crusaders, Turks and everyone else that ruled over Palestine. Further, DNA studies indicate that Jewish people from Europe and Russia are not as closely related to Palestinians as the Arab Jews. Names are helpful but not conclusive,, Many Negev Bedu still remember their Jewish ancestors. Nope Jews have not been a majority in Palestine for 2000 years.. Read Ibn Battuta and Rabbi Bemjamin of Toledo.. That's a lie you have told yourselves too long. The population of Palestine was always small.. fewer than 600,000..
You believe a bunch of Jews who just escaped the Nazis and returned to Israel would start a war with Arab countries who are far better prepared militarily?
The world agreed where the border is at, and agreed what is occupied and so not part of Israel. What the Israeli government thinks of it, is totally irrelevant.
much of the world has agree that the 1967 borders should be the official borders. they also believe West Jerusalem should belong to Israel. and the Old City should be shared or become under international control.
The UN approved the Mandate for Palestine AND the Partition Plan. The Arabs REFUSED a bi-national state.
Quote from Charles Krauthammer - The Weekly Standard, May 11, 1998 "Israel is the very embodiment of Jewish continuity: It is the only nation on earth that inhabits the same land, bears the same name, speaks the same language, and worships the same God that it did 3,000 years ago. You dig the soil and you find pottery from Davidic times, coins from Bar Kokhba, and 2,000-year-old scrolls written in a script remarkably like the one that today advertises ice cream at the corner candy store."
Because the UN refused them their right of self determination. THEIR RIGHT... that's not like... some suggestion. I told you this before, and you've not responded to this.
As far as I know,.. the ENTIRE world agrees that the 1967 border where Israel ends and the occupied WB starts. You go find me a UNSC and a UN resolution where they say differently.
It is also the fact that Palestinians have lived there since as far as we all know, and that the land has been called Palestine since 1150 BC. But leave it up to the fanatics that it all recently was invented, to justify that Jews got the right to ethnic cleanse and thieve from those people.
