As we are afflicted by the predictable and predicted consequences of spewing hundreds of millions of tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, many who have been in vehement, irrational denial have the benefit of experience in having clung to the fake claim to contrive an invasion regarding Saddam's having stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction long after the truth was overwhelmingly apparent to sentient entities everywhere.

No doubt, they are veterans of tenaciously harbouring other such woefully erroneous notions, and will eventually abandon the dogmatic insistence that anthropogenic climate change is not a scientific reality accepted by the entire world (except for pariah twins Bashar al Assad and Trump and their followers.)

Of course, if Trump were to suddenly claim that global warming is a proven phenomenon that he had been among the first to embrace (as he did with his belated flipping on Iraq's non-existent wmd), his disciples would stampede to the consensus that takes responsibility for reality.

Excluding such a sudden revision in dogma, expect them to experience a slow burn - ironically, in concert with the planet.

Nope. Only thing that burnt my arse was my ex-wife.

Oh right, its summer, so its global warming season, come winter you folks will change your tune to 'climate change'. We've seen this hoax go on year after year, and you folks keep thinking nobody will notice...

The whole point of Global warming is the EXTREME weather patterns we now experience brought on by climate change. How often during your lifetime has a 4 mile long chunk of iceberg broken off Greenland and slid into the ocean???And what caused it??Countries all over the globe setting the highest temps. since they began record keeping.

I'm very angry because the left wants renewables and the fight wants the status quo, meaning that upwards of 75% of our energy production is from coal. I want us to go 80%+ nuclear with modern, safe nuclear technology and the abundance of Uranium we have in our country.

But this will never happen so enjoy the fumes.

The primary requisite to confronting the crisis is to honestly acknowledge it.

As long as there is an anti-scientific ilk in irrational denial that casts the US in pariah status with Syria - no solutions are possible.

That's clearly proof of the wild temperature extremes of global warming which virtually nobody denies is occurring.

Everything that conflicts with their theory is dismissed as weather.

About 3.0C per doubling of CO2, according to the evidence.

Half a doubling has already pushed temps up by 1.0C, which points to a transient climate sensitivity (TCS) of around 2.0C. Since equilibrium climate sensitivity (ECS) is significantly bigger than TCS, ECS has to be well above 2.0C.

Thus, any claims that ECS is below 2.0C can be written off as laughable propaganda, being that reality flatly contradicts such claims.

You're talking about weather, not climatology. There is a vast difference. What you just described as weather I will put up against my personal experience with climatology or global warming. Seventy years ago, when I lived in Minnesota, we kids would hang out waiting for the school bus in temperatures of -30 degrees for 2-3 weeks in January. Minnesota hasn't seen prolonged lows like that for a decade.

There's been dynamic weather patterns since the earth started spinning. What qualifies these as extreme?

No, on planet earth, according to the directly measured evidence.

You need to understand that we're not like you. The real world backs up everything we say. In stark contrast, your side only has crazy rants from kook conspiracy blogs.

While human activity is in part contributing to global warming, a rational person realizes that the forces of nature are so much greater that if we changed everything we do today that contributes, the process would continue. Roughly 12,000 years ago there was sufficient global warming to melt glaciers that covered huge parts of the earth... and humans didn't have squat to do with that. The geological clock shows that the total time of the human race is only a tick at this point, and that ice ages and warming phases have been going on for many millions of years. It's rational to realize how what we do affects the environment, and do what we can- but it's irrational to think that we are the primal force over nature.

Note the tiny tick at the top of the global clock below (2MA, first hominins), showing the relevant time of the planet history since the very first humanoids appeared. Modern humans comprise only about 5% of that tick, and the portion where we had any ability to create an impact on the global environment would comprise only about 1% of that 5%.
We would be wiser to act in ways that insure that we may still exist by the time the next ice age gets here, rather than being the first species to be fully responsible for their own extinction- which is a clear possibility. The fact is that our sun is entering a cycle of magnetic change, which is thought to cause first warming and then a cooling of it's surface, which in turn directly affects our planet. We are now in a period called an "interglacial", or a break between glacier dominated periods, which are much longer.

Solar magnetic activity is predicted to drop close to 60% between 2030 and 2040. Such low solar activity has not been seen since the last mini ice age, called the Maunder Minimum, which plunged the northern hemisphere in particular into a series of bitterly cold winters between 1645 and 1715. Like it or not, nature is pulling the big strings here.

Why don't you get off your lazy butt and do it yourself? All the info is freely available. Did your cult tell you otherwise?

I educate those willing to learn for free. You're not in that category, and the Bible tells me not to cast pearls before swine. If you want me to spend hours tutoring you on the basics, you'll need to pay ahead for my time. Indicate if you're willing to do that.

Really ?? The real world seems to agree that the climate sensitivity to CO2 is ~ 1 deg C and estimates higher than that are in error.

You need to keep up to date. The overblown climate sensitivity numbers have been blown out of the water.
