Be fair! Most American Muslims are peaceful. What we--and they--have to do is isolate violent Muslims.

Catholicism and some Protestant churches.
It then implies that the New Testament is about Catholicism and
Protestantism.

And of course, the subtle message is that SECULARISM IS A
PEACE LOVING PHILOSOPHY.

Not correct. The philosophy of Darwin, Hegel and Marx dominated
Western thinking in the 20th Century. And from that came the horrors
of man's inhumanity to man - on a scale no Western religious leader
could ever imagine.

The Catholic Inquisition took about a million lives over 600 years.
Am I wrong in saying a quarter of a billion lives were snuffed out in the
name of secular causes in the 20th Century?

I agree that Muslims have a personal responsibility for isolating and dealing with violent Muslims.

I know where you are coming from.
And I did enjoy the cartoon.
But... our hero is beset by religious violence, or at least, violence in the name of religion.
The IMPLICATION is that not having religion leads to not having violence.
As it is, a more secular world is a more violent world.

We could make a cartoon about the same guy being happy there's no more religious wars,
(and no more monarchy too BTW) and then seeing the killing fields of WWI and the Bolsheviks.

 

Indeed. Even peaceful Muslim societies in Southeast Asia are prone to radicalization. We have to be vigilant in terms of it happening here.
