There may come a point where the right wing gets fed up and sets these punks straight.

And they'd have nothing to complain about. The left wing has become anarchists

It just proves how dumb these leftists really are. They topple over historic statues...angry at history now. Their parents should be taxed for raising idiots.

Only about 10% of Germans were card carrying members of the Nationalist Socialist Party.

The soldiers of the Weremacht took an oath to Germany.

The soldiers of the Waffen SS took an oath to Hitler not Germany.

The Waffen SS was a political army, the militant arm of the Nationalist Socialist Party.

Before the Waffen SS you had the Hitler Youth Corps and the SA (Brown Shirts)

The Brown Shirts were no different than when the KKK was the militant arm of the Democratic party and Antifa and war memorial topplers are now the militant arm of the Democratic party today.

Like all competent socialist know, you start with indoctrinating the youth in schools.

It was the Wehrmacht who attempted to take down Hitler and the Nationalist Socialist Party

    Operation Valkyrie

This is actually my biggest concern ....

While those on the Left seem to choose violence or vandalism much more quickly than those on the Right, those on the Right have WAAAAAY more guns and the damage and death would absolutely 100% end up in war.

I am definitely not a Leftist, but I am not religious and disagree with almost everything socially those on the Right want.

But now days, being "Liberal" is seen as being "On the Right" and being "On the Left" is only accepted as being "Progressive".

It amazes me that 15 years ago I was basically Left and while I have changed very little, the views I hold have all the sudden become moderate Right.

Unfortunately I don't think a short and brutal civil war is entirely out of the question if these little punks keep pushing the envelope. It won't be like our last civil war but would be a sudden flare-up that would escalate quickly into extreme violence and the government would have to step in to put it down and both sides would then suffer casualties. For a short period though it would be a slaughter of leftist by those on the right and would scar this country for a hundred years.

    Being honest, I disagree.

The nation is so large that the violence would be extreme yet very spread out.

If people in Texas "slaughtered" Leftists as you say, Leftists in California or New York would do the same in retribution.

I think if something DID happen, the "lines" of the so called Civil War would be drawn rather quickly.

Hope not, but based on the history I am pretty well read on, that is how I think it would go down. We are a lot more segregated than most people think.

Well let's hope we don't find out who's right but I can't help thinking those on the right would slaughter those on the left no matter if they were outnumbered or not.

Remember last year when liberals, the bias MSM and revisionist historians had a meltdown when Gen. Kelley commented on the Taliban toppling war memorials ?

"Well, history's history," said Kelly, whom President Donald Trump moved from secretary of homeland security to be his chief of staff in July. "You know, 500 years later, it's inconceivable to me that you would take what we think now and apply it back then. I think it's just very, very dangerous. I think it shows you just how much of a lack of appreciation of history and what history is."...

"men and women of good faith on both sides" took a stand based on their conscience.

"Robert E. Lee was an honorable man,"
Kelly said, adding: "The lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War."

Facts are, before 1865 Americans did not hold their loyalty to the federal government but to the individual sovereign state they lived in.

    Hope your right.

But have you been to Los Angeles, New York or San Francisco? I dunno, I have some pretty big doubts that those on the Right in those locations would end up on the "winning" side.

    Perhaps not

That has nothing to do with why the statue was erected.

Nonsense. The whole point of having a united states was to unite for the betterhood of the union, not to weaken it.

Read history and the Constitution and you will see that people then had more loyalty to their state than to the republic. In fact the nation didn't really become federalized until after the civil war which in large part brought that about.

Does "in order to form a more perfect union" ring a bell? That's the contract all the states signed.

Once again you need to read history. What's on paper and what the populace actually feels were two different things. In those days with the lack of transportation you were born and lived in and died in your state and the concept of being an American as opposed to being a citizen of your own state was an abstract concept.

Let's hope the vandalizers are caught and punished. If students, they should be expelled.

Please, the whole point of the Civil War was to protect the UNION. Read some real history, not hillbilly history.

Who erected the majority of these war memorials that the extreme radical left are toppling today ?

They were erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Who were the Daughters of the Confederacy ?

They were the wife's and daughters of fallen Confederate soldiers killed on the battlefields during the "War Between the States" aka (The Great Rebellion, American Civil War)

What are the roots of the United Daughters of the Confederacy ?

I'm sure you get a paid day off of work for Memorial Day.

It use to be called "Decoration Day."

It began when Southern mothers, wives, sisters and daughters began putting flowers on the graves of fallen Confederate soldiers.
Then one day the women said this isn't right, we should also be honoring the Yankee soldiers who also gave their lives on the battlefield. So they started laying flowers of the graves of Union soldiers.

A slight correction: The reason Lincoln invaded the South in the War of Northern Aggression was to "protect the UNION", resulting in the death of about 2% of the total population.

I'm just telling you the reality of what things were like then,if you don't want to know the truth that's fine but remember when the civil war began it was state militias that showed up to fight and they represented their state and which side it took as the union fractured. They fought and died together in state militia units that carried the state flag over the American flag if they even carried the American flag at all. In fact states themselves fractured along with the union.

History of the Maryland Militia in the Civil War

Main article: Maryland Army National Guard
Like other border states, Maryland found herself in a difficult position at the start of the American Civil War, with loyalties divided between North and South. Although Maryland herself remained in the Union, Maryland militia units fought on both sides of the Civil War. Many militia members travelled south at the start of the war, crossing the Potomac River to join the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia.

All of the sovereign states would come together in the common defense if any state is attacked by a foreign army.
