Except you didn't. Other than that you did great.

Those people aren't protesting, and 30% of them don't even play anymore, so it would be hard for them to suit up and stand on the field.

I'm glad a handful out of hundreds are actually trying to do something though.

    Good for them.

Forgot one choice. "Yes, and I don't care of someone kneels for the national anthem." Considering that we routinely have people burning flags and presidents in effigy, kneeling is comparatively tame. I think the BLM movement are a bunch of whiny bitchy princesses and racists with IQs smaller than the number of holes in my ass but I don't care if they want to protest. People are allowed to protest for all sorts of stupid **** and we never bat an eye.

Yes, but remember -- these 'protests' by NFL players are not just private, individual expressions -- they are intended to be "GUERRILLA THEATER" -- a form of 'agit-propaganda' to influence and manipulate beliefs in the masses. It deliberately seeks to make people think that the police are unfair and bad, American society is unfair and bad, and that the United States itself is unfair and bad -- and always has been! Really, they're nothing more than unctuous, contrived displays put on to take a formula of distortions and rub them IN OUR FACES.

The 'leverage' they hope to achieve is to make the masses think, "This guy is a good athlete, therefore, his political sentiments must be good, too." It is cheap, low-brow manipulation, and it works on a lot of people. But a lot more of us see these crass tricks for what they are and want NO part of it!

And it is all just another phony baloney show orchestrated by what passes for the "progressive" "left" these days.

Police are unionized. The union movement has always been an arm of the corrupt DP establishment. Surely you know that.

I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, since I was a child in the 70's. I am also a US combat veteran. I stopped watching the NFL when I saw them kneel during the anthem. I will not watch them again, until those overpaid, pampered, frat boys realize how ****ing fortunate they are to live in this country.

I'm also a veteran (1952 - 1955). One nice thing is we're all entitled to our opinion.

the national police union initially endorsed Trump after 2/3's of its membership declared for that nut - only after some agitation did they retract their official endorsement

    Because?...

Because of the US Constitution, which all military veterans swear an oath to defend.

Which is why I will not support little bitch ass ****s disrespecting my country's anthem.

Just about three weeks to go until NHL hockey pre-season begins! And the regular season starts at the beginning of October. I can't wait!

It mildly bothers me that they're introducing politics into sport which we are all supposed to unite around - but it's not a dealbreaker. Definitely a bad look for the NFL though.

Then the police union money went to the DP in defiance of the wishes of the membership.

Now we've been told that neither CBS nor ESPN will broadcast the National Anthem of the United States, which has always been a prelude to American professional football:

    https://www.totalprosports.com/2018...not-showing-national-anthem-before-nfl-games/
    http://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/national-anthem-nfl-cbs-espn-fox-nbc.html
    https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/201...them-during-monday-night-football-broadcasts/
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...g-national-anthem-what-hell-is-nfl-doing.html

What an obviously and miserably chickenshit way to deal with this whole disgusting situation!

Now, in addition to refusing to watch any more of these NFL "guerrilla-theater" spectacles, where 70% - 75% of the players are Black multi-millionaires who want to rub "Whitey's" nose in sh*t over alleged instances of 'police brutality' and the whole 'poor-downtrodden-Blacks' meme, I'll be taking careful note of exactly WHICH COMPANIES continue to SPONSOR them -- and make damn certain that I spend my money with someone else!

Ha! Me? I'm nothing. But multiply me by MILLIONS, and then that is a force that cannot be 'bullshitted', disregarded, or ignored.... So, enjoy these 'ritualized ghetto brawls', mostly starring Black athletes who will make more money in a year than most people make in their entire lives. Adore them! Revere them! Believe everything they tell you... and be sure and buy everything their advertisers and sponsors tell you to buy.... :cheerleader: . :roflol:

Get all yo millions of white boys together...You can really make a mark here. You might want to go out and do a few push ups before you take to the street though. While you are sitting around on your flabby white ass pounding on your keyboard, those negroes and Mexicans are playing basketball and soccer and running the streets. It could get ugly....lol

Not looking for 'ugliness', Jack. Those old Vietnam days are over... horrible days, when violence was the only answer to everything (even though I heard that some disputes could be settled very decisively, and quickly).

No, today, thoughtful people use their intelligence, their education, and their good common-sense to figure out what's real, and what's bullshit. Now, instead of grabbing an M-16, pushing in a magazine, and going 'hunting' in youthful rage, we fight back against lies, distortions, and media-manipulation with our TV REMOTES, our WALLETS, and our VOTES at election time. After all, it's much less, uh, 'fatiguing'... and you should never have to go through more than one 'Vietnam' in any one lifetime....

I won't be watching any football this year and neither will anyone in my family in New Jersey. Instead I'll spend more time with my family or improve my knowledge of Photoshop.

I'll let the liberals continue to support white billionaire owners who, for their amusement and profit, watch mostly black people in the arena inflict serious injuries and brain damage to other mostly black players.

I was, but not any more. If my football jones kicks in I have NMSU 5 miles away and UTEP 40 miles away. There's also plenty of college games to watch.

I find it fascinating that you allow your political opinions to trump your own personal recreational enjoyment. It has NOTHING to do with the game itself, its merely a protest you don't like by some of its players.

But I suppose there are those that believe denying themselves personal pleasure over what amounts to a completely tangential principle is an even more effective way of protesting.
