I'm trying to figure out the marketing and business strategy here, Nike hires a guy who alienated much of the country and who is suing his employer. Can someone explain why anyone would do this?

Pretty certain they are trying to connect with young black men. They could be major buyers of the higher priced shoes.

Double edged sword. Cater to the black athlete and give trump the finger at the same time.

Because you're not Nikes target customer. They could care less if you don't like Kaepernick.

Trump blew this out of proportion and then kept it going.

Probably makes a great way to incite his rallys

Judge just ruled enough evidence exist to go to Trial over collusion.

If he wins Colin will realize a award 3 times his Salary............

Trump will just Love that !

Free to alienate a large number of people who disagree with Kaepernick??? If you say so.

I never understood why people say 'they could care less.' When people use that phrase exactly what are they trying to say? I think you mean 'couldn't care less.'

Because Nike knows certain people would rather have new shoes than a 3.5 or better GPA.

    Priorities. None.

How do you know I don't mean exactly what I typed, that Nike could care less. I know I could care less. If I did, I wouldn't even be responding.

Perhaps and especially if Nike runs and ad showing Kaepernick urinating on the U.S. flag. Certainly sales among leftists could go through the roof.

How much less could you care? See what I mean, it's a meaningless phrase.

True, but unlike the other athletes Nike uses to sell their garbage, Kaepernick isn't even a good football player. From what I've read he isn't even a good second string player. So Nike is actively promoting someone whose only actual claim to greatness is spitting on this nation? Sweet!

Next ad will feature Bruce...ope scuse me... I mean Caitlin Jenner, he'll... dangit... she'll be wearing shoes with a removable high heel, a dual purpose shoe for times when you're feeling fabulous, or when feeling like getting a few laps in at thd track. Theme music will be "feel like a woman".

I'm guessing it will only be advertised in a small, narrow market and that New Balance is applauding their advertising choices. :)

....with Caitlin behind Colin as he's kneeling and bending over. Huge Gay flag behind both. Should get a lot of applause in California.

Kaepernick is the celebrity face of movement that is directly responsible for the assassination of innocent police officers.

    good move, Nike.

How do I know? Because you seem to be trying to tell us that you and Nike don’t care, but your words are saying you do care, at least a little, and so does Nike.

So if you do care, and Nike cares, then why?

'the message' is predicated on a bold-faced lie.

Of course. But liberals will ignore that Nike abuses workers for shoe production but pretends to stand on a moral high ground on this issue
