I don't care. If they did it, along with facilitating more kneeling like they did last year, I will be laughing my arse off at their idiocy. Nike will not be getting more money from the "free publicity" unless hipsters and leftist SJWs never bought Nike to begin with. Nike is alienating a big portion of their customers who probably not buy Nike again. Do you think black people in da hood never heard of nike before now? BTW, I own no stock in this fight, I haven't bought nike for 20 years when I found out I have wide feet and most of their shoes are narrow. My kids also have wide feet and Nike are uncomfortable. So, I wasn't a customer they lost over this idea.
The right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness is part of the Declaration of Independence...........which is an "unalienable right" which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their creator, and which governments are created to protect. This would include not baking cakes for gays and trannies.
Unlike you, I don't know him personally - so I can't comment upon whether or not his in an assh*le. But I do believe he has the right to choose his message and his method of protesting. As for what you believe his message should be...I don't think it deserves a response. But I will say that your message speaks volumes about your views of the black community. And because of the large number of folks who share your views, the country will always be divided.
I doubt the NFLPA would get anything since they, as a group, are not an aggrieved party the way the MLBPA was way back when. Kaepernick would probably get several million dollars - but he still won't get an NFL contract.
"Voting with dollars" is a form of speech, which is protected in the First Amendment of the Constitution and has been upheld by the Supreme Court.
Why do you say that? Just because you own a company's product doesn't mean you can't boycott them going forward for something they did that upset you in the present. In fact, that is what any company is terrified of: losing their actual customers to a boycott. I don't buy Nike products so they won't care if people like me who already non-customers joined a boycott.
And you might not believe this, but this lady was considered a "hero" to people as well. Crazy, I know!
Whoa, whoa, whoa, ease off(!!!) - I'm sure that he's going to give 100% of the proceeds that he gets all to CHARITY!!!!!
Not true, because clothing is a good that needs to be replaced regularly. Take the following 2 people: Person A buys new Nike sneakers every 6 months for $150, they buy Nike windbreakers, Nike shirts, and officially licensed Nike NFL gear Person B doesn't buy Nike at all. Which person would Nike most notice and be upset about if they joined a boycott?
Yep, those ballots will be showing up in the bonuses of the execs at Adidas and New Balance who only had to roll out of bed to laugh their ways to the bank...
Over the years I've bought New Balance, Skechers, and Vionics as they cost considerably less than do Nikes. But mebbe I'll get a pair for Christmas ~ I'll pass a few hints around and mebbe Santa will check my list ...
