It is likely Planet nine exists but very unlikely we will find it soon....perhaps in this century. Space is quite full of objects large and small between and beyond the established planets and dwarf planets probably number in the hundreds if not thousands. The possibility of a large object beyond Pluto is almost a guarantee but it will be so faint, dark and far away finding it will be nearly impossible. Very little "funding" is involved and as usual you attempt debasement of science while inadvertently promoting it but are not bright enough to know it.

Why did they decide to call it Planet nine?

ya' see we gots dis thangy wees callin' numburs dat is a usded fer countin an such. Ifn you gits ta ate da next one is nine so day goes a callin it nine onna counts day aint got ta ten yet.

There also the designation coming into place because the previous ninth planet has been relegated to dwarf planet status due its position within a belt of objects vs. clearing its orbital path.

There are many things I know and have studied but Astronomy/Cosmology have always been of particular interest and study. With these "Hobbies" come inherent need to understand the concepts of Physics and mathematical modeling as well as many other fields and concepts. Over the decades my mind has wandered into many rooms once hidden in darkness which has led to much enlightening and further exploration of knowledge allowing me to seem more intelligent than I actually am.

I read a great many things because I enjoy knowledge (try it sometime) and unlike you I accept the work of others who devote the time and effort into researching things I cannot. It is painfully obvious that you hold disdain for the inherent and ancient process of passing along information and history to new generations in order to further the species and society. I would recommend you avoid reproduction and attempting to raise children in order to be of some minimal benefit to humankind.

If they ever get the Weber telescope in orbit in working conditions there is a good chance that the nine planet can be found by own heat radiation.

This is quite possible depending on planetary size and what type it is. A gas giant or rocky super earth should produce a heat signature that the Webb could note, but an Icy world probably not. If it is like a comet it will be so cold and dark we would need to know EXACTLY where it is to have even a chance of seeing it.
Likely NASA does not want another Hubble mistake so they are going over that telescope a thousand times before launch to be as sure as possible and any possible problem with parts or manufacture will require a rebuild so expect many delays. Its not like we can send up a shuttle for repairs.

I think there's enough evidence to suggest that it is more likely to exist than not. The point we are at now is that the observations we do have are harder to explain without planet nine than with it.

    We have 8 planets in our solar system and 8 + 1 = 9.

If we relied only on what is directly observed, experienced, we would appear to have IQs lower than 80.

Technology would have never advanced very far either. Technology has depended upon the work of so many people over time, with most never meeting the others. It is accumulated knowledge that many times must be passed to the next generation by some form of media, with the most common being books, papers, etc. And yes, that demands reading what others have experienced and observed. Of course you know this. Right?

Footnote I am still annoy that Pluto was demoted from being consider a full solar system planet even if I understand the logic behind doing so.

To me the simplest solution would had been to just grandfather Pluto in as planet nine.

Yes, of course I know it - the thing is that that 'accumulated knowledge' is 90% guesswork.

We already had a planet 9 it was called Pluto before those ********ing, shiteating, goat ****ing dumbass, asshat *********king cum guzzlers took it away from Pluto. ****ing *******s.

Pluto has rights too. For crying out loud Pluto and planet even begin with the same ****ing letters.

Or so you keep claiming but as you're always arguing from ignorance, perhaps you're not best placed to make that assessment.

They are waiting for more definitive confirmation. Historically this has come from traditional visual observation.

So then you are questioning the technology behind cosmology? Technology is deeply involved in those things you find absurd, right? Cosmology depends upon measurements, which depends upon technology, and advancing technology. And cosmology goes back to ancient times, with it being carried forth into the future by books, and new minds reading those books. Right?

We have even at times lost knowledge, and history evidences that, almost to the point that we had to start over, or almost start over. I thought we were talking about the importance, or as you seem to think, the lack of importance of books? And reading?

If only we could see what was in that library at Alexandria. One wonders if you would have been one of those minds that would have celebrated that great loss of ancient knowledge? ha ha. Ok, I am only kidding you here. But you would have probably found something wrong with some of that recorded knowledge, long ago? You seem to be quite obsessed with it on this forum, knowledge found in books, or knowledge about things you find ludicrous to even think about.

Human curiosity has served humanity very well. Are you not at all curious about particular things? You seem to rave against it, as if it were a waste of time. Or do I just not understand you? That is of course possible.
