Hearing a non-Western, non-Russian language totally made them sh*t their big papa panties. Little girls. Just stared at me, and while trying to realize what just happened, I quickly navigated out of their stupid Subway.

I'll never enter any Club or Bar. Just avoid that AT ALL TIMES no matter how much she forces you to. HardRock cafe on Arbatskaya is safe, and small diners during the day. At night, just go to the HardRock. It's pretty safe there.

Avoid walking foot outside the city center, especially in the 3rd or 4th Wheel in Moscow (MKAD). And don't dress American. Don't put baseball caps, don't put hoodies, wear some slim fit jeans, and a tight jacket, preferably a dark leather one, or just a dark jacket.

And you'll be fine.

Russians also like Pelmeni food with vodka. Surprise them by boiling some Pelmeni for them, serve with vodka, eat and drink that together. Not so bad. Pelmeni you can get at any store, ready to just throw into boiling water for 10-ish mins.

And, yeah, maybe buy them an album of Zhuki, they love that Zhuki - Tankist song. Or even better, get a compact CD or something of the band Leningrad or Gruppa Krovi as a gift. They listen to all these, mostly Leningrad and their vocalist Sergey Shnurov. Just don't go empty handed. Or you'll often be met with hostility.

A compact CD of Shnurov (Leningrad) for five dollars, one CD of Zhuki, two boxes of Pelmeni and two bottles of Stolichnaya / Putinka will melt Roshan hearts, that, I do promise ya, sir. And you're set for no more than $20-30.
