I like Steve Bannon's idea of a tax plan. Congress would have never passed it though. Lowering corporate and middle class taxes while increasing taxes, over a few million, to 44 percent on the rich would have served america and 300 million plus americans much better, IMO. But Bannon could talk trump into it.

This tax plan, the only good part is the reduction in corporate taxes for competition reasons, and yet I am not at all sure that will bring much manufacturing back from slave labor an low envirnomental laws in other places where you find lots of poor to exploit for labor.

I must ask my daughters and son in laws if they saw an increase, something worth noting in their own income, since all are in the middle middle class or upper middle class. The one that owns her own business(following in my footsteps) is upper middle class. The other daughter is an RN at the local chain hospital. (we have a chain of this particular corporation hospital across the south)

The poor do not pay income tax, but the lower middle and middle middle does. I think this may have been what he was referring to, if I had to guess. He probably knows the poor don't pay in federal income taxes or if they do, they get it back plus EIC. I think we still have EIC?

The poor pay the other taxes though, and there are plenty of those since everything is taxed these days from food to telephone service. I keep waiting for air to be taxed. ha ha

Down at the bottom of this story is this interesting paragraph:

"Proponents of the tax bill have previously argued that polls could be misleading if they include adults who are unemployed or self-employed and thus wouldn't be impacted by withholding changes."

So, of the 1,400 people who were polled (a very small poll sampling for a big outfit like Gallup) how many people were unemployed, or self-employed? Did Gallup screen the people they talked to in order to find out?

The primary purpose of the tax bill was to increase employment and stimulate business activity. It has surely done THAT! Not even the most rabid, liberal Democrat can deny that now we have the lowest unemployment figures since 1969. Employers hire more workers as they expand their businesses, and they are much more willing to do that, and to take chances and embrace risk in the marketplace when they aren't being saddled with the highest corporate taxes in the world -- which is exactly what they were burdened with before Trump's tax bill.

It's always nice to see you are so easily pleased. At the current rate we should be back where we were sometime around the turn of the century. :) I mean, really see how much faster they are coming back?

Trump didn't save those manufacturing worker jobs at Carrier. But he did play a cruel joke on them.

What low rate would you like? And you are going to treat inheritance as income?

File under too clueless to know what is going on. You probably don't even know what chain CPI is.

Which is delusional? That the Trump tax cut overwhelmingly favored the rich? Or that the Trump tax cut raised the deficit? Or that the Republican have cut Medicaid? Or that the Republicans have proposed switching to chain CPI? Or that the Republicans have proposed raising the retirement age?

Go ahead and tell us which is false.

Indeed, just like his predecessors. I can only assume government won't do anything about it until it goes bankrupt.

when you can print money you can't go bankrupt. Besides there is always this nugget of Trump economic policy:

"After assuring Americans he is not running for president “to make things unstable for the country,” the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump, suggested that he might reduce the national debt by persuading creditors to accept something less than full payment.

Asked on Thursday whether the United States needed to pay its debts in full, or whether he could negotiate a partial repayment, Mr. Trump told the cable network CNBC, “I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.”

He added, “And if the economy was good, it was good. So, therefore, you can’t lose.”

Printing money that is not backed up by earnings dilutes the value of the existing money. Do you remember when gasoline was 25 cents per gallon? I do. Our debt service is now greater than our defense spending. How long do you think they can keep that up?

This assumes you can always find someone to loan you money.
