And we also have a right to possess and use firearms for any lawful purpose, a right that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. But the bottom line is, gun laws simply do nothing other than suppress the law abiding, something the anti's will never admit.
By they way my statement. "I learned a long time ago a truism when dealing with gun control advocates, you give them an inch and the think they are rulers." "They only have a single goal and that is totally banning the private ownership of firearms, they know they cannot do that in a single sweep so the chip away at the Second a little bit at a time, hoping no one will notice their Progressive progress." Is 100% factually correct, but a nice try at diversion, with the gun law comment. I guess facts that don't match your antigun narrative become automatically ignored.
The verifiable evidence is the fact that even though we have thousands of gun laws across the U.S., most of them lightly enforced, the anti's will shamelessly stand upon the dead bodies of the victims of the most recent mass shooting and demand even more. It's a process that history has clearly demonstrated.
Gum laws are enforced very well in certain parts of the US. NYC and Hawaii are just two examples. I think these laws should be federal. Those that see the dead bodies and do nothing share in the crime.
Not at all, you might call it gun control, but any thinking person fully understands, gun laws only effect the law abiding.
Name a state, country or large city anywhere in the world with low gun deaths. They all have effective gun control. That is a simple fact
Some of the most strictest gun laws in the U.S. are federal, which is why in murder capitol's like Chicago, where the local gun laws are not being enforced, federal prosecutors working with the BAFTE are using federal gun laws to tamp down the murder rate.
I understand that, but pointing out falsehoods and misconceptions works well to expose anti-gunners for what they really are, people who want to control the law abiding amongst us, while ignoring the true problem, which is criminal control.
Actually in the NYC they never have, what does work is prosecution of criminals for criminal acts, not the violation of gun laws.
Queens, NY – A high-ranking member of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s staff was arrested with a handgun on Saturday, and arraigned on Sunday in the criminal court where her mother is a judge. Reagan Stevens, 42, was in a parked Infiniti with 24-year-old Montel Hughes and 25-year-old Caesar Forbes, when police encountered them after responding to an alert for shots fired in the area, the New York Daily News reported. New York Police Department (NYPD) officers found a loaded 9 mm handgun in the glove compartment of the vehicle the three were in, but nobody would claim ownership of it. So police arrested everybody. The incident began at about 9:42 pm on April 7 when ShotSpotter, a citywide system of highly tuned microphones designed to detect gunfire and pinpoint its location, alerted police about a burst of five gunshots fired in Jamaica, Queens, the New York Post reported. When officers arrived in the area, they found a 2002 dark red Infiniti occupied by a deputy director in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and two young men. Police found a loaded 9 mm handgun which had had its serial number removed in the vehicle’s glove box. The eight-round magazine in the gun held only three bullets, and police found an empty shell casing on the floor of the car near Stevens’ feet, the New York Post reported. The ShotSpotter had directed police to 174th Street and 109th Avenue, and sources told the New York Post that officers were able to locate private surveillance video footage that showed five shots being fired from the window of the Infiniti. Stevens, Hughes and Forbes were arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Hughes and Forbes were also charged with for illegal knives they were both carrying at the time of their arrests. All three were arraigned on Sunday in Queens Criminal Court where Stevens’ mother, Deborah Stevens Modica, has been a judge since 1997, the New York Post reported. Salvatore Modica, Stevens’ stepfather, is an acting Queens Supreme Court justice. Stevens managed youth and strategic initiatives for the famously anti-gun mayor who recently pulled NYPD officers out of the city’s schools. Office of Criminal Justice Spokesman Patrick Gallahue said Stevens was immediately suspended without pay from her $90,000-a-year city job. “We take these allegations very seriously,” Gallahue said.
If a person cannot afford to keep their cupboard stocked with a full set of cups, perhaps they should not be allowed on a boat to begin with.
I’d rather current laws be enforced such as child neglect or maybe even manslaughter in cases where a child dies. If these people are stupid enough to keep loaded weapons accessible to children then fcuk’em.
the fact that NYC used to have very high rates of gun shot murders even with idiotic gun control laws.
