I want to see it in tennis. I want to see women try and get a game off Roger Federer, much less an entire match.

By gender, you mean sex, right? (Sorry, but in current year, I have to ask). Because "social construct" gender really isn't relevant to athletic ability, sex is.

I have memories from the PE-classes in school where it happened only once or twice that we had a game of basketball or dodgeball where boys played girls is that girls had no chance whatsoever to win.

Sounds like mma minus gender mixing. For example ufcs 135 champ is Amanda Nunes I believe and the men’s 135 champ is T.J Dillashaw. I would welcome you to examine both combatants fights and decide if it’s a good idea to mix them. That’s an idea that looks good on paper but if or when you actually tried it there would be a lot of women losing.

I am not disagreeing that sometimes gender discrimination may make for better entertainment - it's still gender discrimination though

Hasn't this been tried already? Wasn't it one or both of the Williams sisters that played a retired,, former number one, male tennis star and even with a handicap, they could not beat him?

our school was always gender neutral in PE, now the actual sports were not

we hear there are still some schools that have segregated proms - discrimination does exist in the 21st century

Where I live, we do not have "high school sports" in the American sense unless you attend a sports high school. We only have compulsory PE/gym class and these are, like every other class, always gender neutral.

A few years ago, Sweden's Women's national team in soccer played a match against the best, most talented 13-15 year old boys of the "Stockholm district" and lost 3-0.

I agree with you personally but in the long run I don’t think it’s viable in physical sports because 1. I don’t think women would go for it because the likelihood of them winning would severely decrease and 2. Like you said it would lower entertainment value. Now non physical sports i see no need to separate them by gender.

It is not even viable in sports like chess. Even chess has seperate leagues for the genders.

Really? I know nothing of chess but exactly why wouldn’t mixed genders in chess work?

I know nothing about it either, other than that it is a gender-segregated sport and exactly why this is, I don't know. Neither do I know if the male World champ has ever played the female World champ, but it would be interesting to know if such game has taken place and what the outcome was.

I understand segregating physical sports as science clearly shows differences but mental sports why would women be at a disadvantage?

"Discrimination" isn't always a dirty word, though. We also discriminate when we don't allow minors to buy alcohol, or when we don't allow the able-bodied to inhabit handicapped parking.

Both sisters, and Karsten Braasch was ranked 203rd at the time.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PEOPLE, gender is not, repeat, NOT the same as sex. Gender has to do with grammar and sex has to do with biology. This is just another attempt to dumb down the American public.

James Blake's brother, Thomas Blake, used to warm up the women and be hitting partners. He used to run them all over the court and thrash them and he couldn't even make it on tour. Simona Halep hits with retired star Lleyton Hewitt, who is known as a counter puncher with no real power and he blows her off the court.

Then the quality of the competition was reduced.
That is how you combat likely injustice. If the quality of the product becomes diluted or weak, then sponsors won't sponsor. Competitors won't compete. People won't watch.

Science also clearly shows differences in mental abilities between men and women.

And when we pick Coke over Pepsi. All choices involve discrimination.

is that because men do not like to get beat by women, or is there a other reason?
