I think the onset of life is an automatic result of the elements of our Universe and will go everywhere it can. Right here on Earth we see the results of this from black ocean depths to hot springs and mile deep caves. Likely we will have confirmation of this hypothesis in the coming decades on celestial bodies elsewhere....what do you folks think.

Life isn't an accident it's an eventuality. Life in the universe isn't a mistake it's going to appear wherever conditions are ripe. And the conditions of the universe are favorable for life to appear.

As far as I know, in some particular circumstances, you can create chemically ARN, the smallest base of life.

However, I put "other" because I don't know enough on this topic. Furthermore, to understand fully the nature of life, I suppose we would have to discover life on other planets and be able to compare them to our. By noting the common points and the differences, I guess we could understand in a better way life. That's kind of big condition.

I always say for those who accept how life formed on Earth from primordial muck then evolved should indicate this same process has equal chances throughout the Universe. Because of this I don't believe Earth is special...just one of billions of other planets in which some forms of life get a foothold then evolve when presented a suitable environment. I know many do not like to compare two ant hills, each located on opposite sides of Earth, but as long as neither of these ant colonies can communicate with each other, or travel to discover each other, they will never know the other exists...

It is also interesting when people say that the fact this Earth is perfect for human proves something created us instead of understanding it is perfect for us because it MADE US. It made fish and horses as well and if they think about it probably "Know" it was made for them instead.

If everything was made just for us, then why can't I breathe underwater, or in space? It seems like pretty poor design that the universe was made just for me, yet I am confined to about 30% of the surface of one tiny planet out of the entire universe; and even parts of that 30% would kill me fairly quickly.

I mean, if we custom built a house for a person with dwarfism, and the toilets were 6 feet off the ground, I would say that the dwarf would have a legitimate beef with the architect.

Well....that's just proof Evolution is bogus, it did not evolve us with Gills or adjustable legs.

Because your ancestors chose to live on land and breathe air. If you were a fish, then it's because you chose to remain in the water. There's nothing to breathe in space so that's a moot point. The Universe was not made for you? The conditions that existed on Earth nurtured the life forms we know today...life forms on another planet might be similar or radically different...

Of course it wasn't, and what a ridiculous thought to think it was. If anything, the universe was made to kill me.

the 'human' evolutionary line has been 'broken' many times, branches deadending then a new branch begins... almost as through dna manipulation... begs to question, whom/what is at the 'controls'... will 'they' ever decide to show themselves...

    The Epigenome
    :worship:

DNA is just the dumb hard drive.
The epigenome :worship: is at the keyboard.
So powerful; grandparents may influence which genes are expressed in their grandchildren.

Had you heard of the epigenome before now? No insult or snark intended.
You expect it to speak English? Or even :flagcanada:? Snark intended ;)
ref.: "will 'they' ever decide to show themselves.."

As far as we can tell, that happens with every species.

It isn't one molecule such as DNA, RNA
but a collection of molecules that are being identified.
Ponder the influences of the epigenome.
Deciding what parts of DNA should be active and what should be kept "off".

so, because it's a strand being manipulated, that is supposed to explain the 'jumps' in evolution while leaving one 'branch' appear to be a deadend and the new 'branch' appear to appear of thin air???

that said, it still doesn't explain how the manipulation occurred, naturally(automatically) or by some outside force meddling in...

What jumps? What are you talking about?

    "Thin air"....what is this nonsense?

So far, natural processes have been considered sufficient to cause the change evident in the record.

Or a simple answer is we were created by God. I don't know but it really is simpler.

No it isn't. You just replaced a mystery with an even bigger mystery. It not only is not simpler, it also explains nothing at all.

What's happened on earth is pretty fabulous - no doubt. I would tend to guess that the life in the ocean depths, caves, etc., all came from the same early life forms as they worked to survive in various niches.

It might be the case that the life here on earth is the result of stochastic processes where life is exceedingly rare even when considering only earth-like environments. That is, there could be a trillion earths where life happened to start on very few of those earths - maybe only a couple.

The fact that we're in a place where life started is of little consequence, as we wouldn't be any place where it failed, obviously.

grabbed this quickly, it might not explain exactly, but it shows no connections, each just 'popped' up as if from 'thin air'...
