"A "weird" cigar-shaped object barrelling through space spotted last year flying near Earth could have been an alien spacecraft sent to "probe" the planet, Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb said."

 Would someone please explain to these twerps that asteroids - barreling through space or not - usually do come in all shapes and sizes, so it's extremely unlikely that Oumuamua ( are they taking the piss or what?) is an alien probe. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I could not verify anything in you link without accepting their BS cookie invasion of my computer (common in conspiracy sites) so I can only assume is is hyperbolic BS.

Found it.....if you go down to the very bottom in the last paragraph of this extensive article you find speculation on possible solar sail debris from an E.T.

But they do though, don't they - asteroids come in all shapes and sizes, I mean? Whatever your frustrations, surely you read enough of the story in the quote in my post? That's widely reported in other mainstream publications and even from the horse's mouth viz. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/jpl/chasing-oumuamua. I mean, trash that the media certainly is, they don't just dream up nonsense like that, so they must source it from somewhere, and that 'somewhere' must be the space agencies. Do you think it's an alien 'probe'? Be honest now! [IMG]

Though I realize you do not want to read this....if you do you will find a speculation at the very bottom on possible solar sail debris in the last paragraph. This is what all this hubbub is about, taking a couple sentences from a huge article and running with it...Tabloid Trash.

But do you believe it's an asteroid or an alien 'probe' is what I asked, and you 'forgot' to answer?

All indications point to space debris (asteroid) from outside this solar system.

Are you seriously asserting that a national newspaper would actually risk its reputation and survival by printing blatant lies as headlines? I mean sensationalist or exaggerated drivel can be written off as par for the course for the tabloid press, but all they're doing is embellishing/sensationalising what NASA and other similar sources are publishing, don't you agree? I mean NASA et al wouldn't lie would they? You seem to be in such deep denial that instead of doing a bit of self-searching to perhaps mitigate your credibility, you're trying to shoot the poor bloody messenger.

What the hell does that prove - that there are 75 Oumuamuas? Or did I count 76? Never mind, it doesn't make a ha'porth of difference to anyone's lives.

It proves there was an asteroid and you prove you are an idiot.

 Now-now, you know what they say about the loser of a discussion resorts to insult? [IMG]

And that vid is so grainy it doesn't prove a cotton-pickin' thing. Oh and the 'cigar' didn't seem to be 'barreling' to me? Did it to you?

That was the best and only actual documentation of the Asteroid in question, you expected something not CGI so I provided it knowing full well your "Interesting" mind would be incapable of understanding the dynamics involved when trying to see something very small and dark from very far away. What you refer to as insult is actually the use of the kindest wording available to describe the mentality you present and I certainly could have used more colorful language in my description.

The object was clearly tumbling and moving quite swiftly.

Why all the confusion amd bleating? Your thread title is a lie. That is a simple statement. And a true statement.

He knows...I have even given him the paper to read and the little two sentence part he is hyping but....that required reading and rational thinking so, not gonna happen.
This paragraph from a four page scientific paper was his take.
"Alternatively, a more exotic scenario is that ‘Oumuamua may be a fully operational probe sent intentionally to Earth vicinity by an alien civilization."

How TF can it be a lie when it's predicated - albeit sensationally - on a public announcement by a Harvard professor ffs? Why can't you face up to the fact you're being manipulated, and have some self-respect instead of continuously trying to defend these parasitic chancers.

The intemperate tone of your post speaks volumes though?? I think my work here will soon be done.

Because it is not what he said. Obviously. What a stupid question.
