    Does time have a beginning?
    What is time?
Does time have a starting point?
    Will time end?
Is there a when before time if time has a starting point?
    When was the first when?
What was before the first when?
When was before the first when?
What happens at the end of time?
What do we need to ask?

You are asking all sorts of basic Philosophy 201 questions.

These are normally covered during the first semester of the 2nd year of a Philosophy curriculum.

The first year is normally a study of the history of Philosophy starting with Hesiod through just before Descartes.

The second semester of the first year then begins with Descartes, called the Father of Modern Philosophy, through modern times, which means through Roger Scruton, the most accomplished modern philosopher.

There is no such thing as time.

It is simply a human invention.

Same as math. Math does not exist either. It is also a human invention which began with counting antelope by cave men and evolved into theoretical math.

Time is a relative thing invented by humans.

You can think of time as a heartbeat.

Your first moment is your first heartbeat.

Your last moment is your last heartbeat.

A heartbeat is about 1 second.

When you are finally dead your time ends and someone else's begins.

Do you think God has a heartbeat? Most likely not.

Ergo with God there is no time.

We live in the space-time continuum.

Time is just another dimension like those that we call height, length and width.

The laws of the universe stipulate that mass/energy can neither be created nor destroyed therefore the universe is eternal and has always existed and will always exist in one form or another.

We can only observe that aspect of the universe that currently exists and that our tools can measure.

So your questions are more philosophical than scientific.

Science deals with the reality of the natural universe whereas philosophy deals with the kinds of questions that you are asking.

My understanding is that was the view before Newton - time as an ordering of events. Newton showed that time is independent of events.

Then Einstein improved on that. Our universe is space-time. So, time began when space began.

    Maybe
Anything from the 4th dimension to an artifice created by the human brain.
    Possibly the Big Bang.
    Some physicists say yes.
    No, because "when" denotes time.
    At the beginning of time.
    Don't know.
Not applicable because "when" denotes time.
    No solid hypothesis.
    Does time even exist?

Time is the means humans have developed to designate how reality functions in this universe. Time is not a constant in the context of human experience which makes it somewhat arbitrary and individual. Spacetime seems an interesting concept with an inherent beauty that tries to explain our unexplainable existence. Time IS because we decided it is.

Welcome to the world of philosophical masturbation.

Isn't time as real as/connected with space?
Well check God at the door, and then come back with a more scientific approach?

Answers for me, I don't know, I don't have an atomic clock to measure time, but others have and I can take their tested and tested again answer for it.
Since we can measure time as a species with atomic/accurate clocks and record passages of time different than one another retaliative to speed and motion of each other, proves the faster're in motion, there slower time flows.

How do we motion in such a way?
How do we have speed and no motion?

    Yes, "when" denotes time.

But, with time being an integral part of our universe, as it is believed to consist of space-time, the beginning of space and the beginning of time are tied together as one with the beginning of our universe. That beginning has been tested - and continues to be tested. Time exists within our universe, so it's reasonable to talk about how long ago this universe began.

Space-time is a hypothesis, as it can be tested. Physicists could find Einstein to be wrong. Again, such tests have been carried out ever since he came up with it.

Cool documentary on time from Brian Greene. Time began when the expansion began at least from our perspective but time, like everything else is relative to the frame of reference:

I am kind of in a hurry at this moment but I will refer you to some of the best information that I have ever read on this:

    https://www.near-death.com/reincarnation/experiences/mellen-thomas-benedict.html#a05
    I strongly suspect that time......
is an invention..... similar to a bicycle, canoe, car, truck or 747.......
Time was probably invented to assist "others" to progress spiritually... emotionally.....
psychologically.... and to some degree physically from point A to point B and on and on and on.......

    www.CarbonBias.blogspot.ca/

Yup.............. that actually sounds about right......
but I do believe that time in some form...... although different.... exists for several of the higher invisible space - time dimensions..... and may only cease to be relevant once one does something of a Vulcan Mind Meld with fundamental....... or nearly fundamental energy..... (which I assume ........ assuming Bosonic String Theory)..... to be the 26th dimension..... but perhaps the 25th as well...... if there are in fact TWO forms of fundamental energy.... Super Strings(fundamental energy light).... as well as Super Waves(fundamental energy gravity)?????

Personally.... I think that time was invented by G-d / YHWH......
    after the fall of Lucifer.......
in order to have some mercy on Adam and Eve who volunteered to go down into time......
to assist in saving Stanley Milgram Lucifer Satan, Abner Paul Azazel Baalzebub, Lilith... and the gang?!

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ch-to-satanists.517921/page-2#post-1068232360

Basically.... a spring season Passover event had to occur two millennia or so before the fall harvest season Yom Kippur event......

Time is the 4th dimension in the Space-Time Continuum.

Too answer your question with simplicity , time began when the first matter manifested , we can define this :

Time is a quantifiable measurement to record the aging process of matter .

Don't let them lie to you and tell you anything else.

Neurological weak minds worry about words.

Have you seen the look on their faces !

Hmmm, no, some thing from no thing in a vast nothingness. I have the equation but never mind as this is a time thread.
