The many wives of Muhammed.

Everybody knows a little about Muhammeds favorite wife, the 6 year old, ( at Marriage) Ashia.
But not much is said of his others.
We can make a few comments about Ashia, and then lets move to some others.
Ashia's father was Abu Bakr, one of Muhammed's generals, and who would later become the 1st Calief.
He willingly gave his 6 year old daughter, to a 50 year old pervert, so we can start to see where the morals are in the religion. A Pattern that would play out many times.
Ashia was not without problems, she was accused of adultery.
she also let a goat eat the last revelation of Muhammed.
It was on written on leaves.
she is the wife written about the most, and she contributes to the Hadith collections.
Naturally most, if not all, of the writings are BS, but they contribute to the religion,. and people actually believe them.

Sawda bint Zamʿa


This was Muhammed's second wife, there is little written about her, she was said to be a black lady, old, slow, and fat, in her 60's. However at Muhammeds death at 63 years, Sawda was only 46 years old. Just another choice of which one you chose to believe.
Muhammed married her when he was down and out.
she gave up her wife rights when Muhammed brought in Ashia the child.
apparently it was a mutual agreement and she kept her house.


Now you know why they call women housekeepers.

 

Khadija bint Khuwaylid

This was Muhammed's first wife.
He started working for her running caravans, and apparently it got closer.
She was 40, and the richest gal in town, he was 26, with nothing, but apparently a good camel driver.
she was one of the first converts to Islam, and it was her who decided it was God that Muhammed spoke with in the caves, and not the Devil. She did this by sitting in his lap and stripping down.
I suppose that's as good a way as any.
He was monogynous in this relationship for 25 years.
She had the money and the business, she probably was the boss.

 

An interesting point is how Muslims will tell you that his wives and marriages, were between tribes for loyalty,
or were widowed war brides, who he graciously took in so they wouldn't starve.

You could not be further from the truth.

 

And George Washington and Thomas Jefferson forced slaves to work for them. Abraham Lincoln believed that blacks were inferior to whites and were better off moving back to Africa. Jesus believed that divorce was wrong even in the case of physical abuse.

People in the past had some horrible beliefs and actions when compared to modern standards. If police found a man who had forced 317 people to work against their will at his home at Mt. Vernon, he would be imprisoned for life. Yet, George Washington is still a great historical figure even though he would be on national headlines today as a vile criminal.

I don't know if having a lot of wives is so horrible.
Having that many mother in laws might be.
I think a guy should be allowed to have as many as he wants, if he can support them.
